First, (a bit out of date - since I only got around to building the thing a few weeks ago) in June I ordered the Red Five X-Wing UCS from lepinbricks (note lowercase letters). Had a very quick reply confirming it was Lepin and it arrived in one week. No missing pieces (in fact came with 8 extra white 1x6 tiles - interestingly listed on a parts list I found on-line - but not on the official Lego list, and a little bag that seems to include a few extra pieces that also came with the official lego set). All went together without any problems (including a perfectly fitting canopy/cockpit that a couple of reviews I saw on-line say does not fit...). Looks great - even swmbo likes it! Cost €59 - current Bricklink price around €250 p&p incl.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Tower of Orthanc from H&H. Quick reply to my query regarding no mini-figs being in the photo (it's deliberate to avoid complaints from Lego) and confirming it was Lepin. Arrived in one week with no missing pieces (all the mini-figs) except that Saruman ended up with two right arms. The sticker set was just in the box, rather then inside the instruction book, so was a bit creased. Still building it but going together without any problems - good clutch power, no warped pieces, etc. Cost €69 - current Bricklink price around €200.
Finished this on the weekend and it looks great. Currently sits on a bookcase, which has a yellow wall behind it so shows up really well. For full details of what the model looks like you're better off seeing a review on YouTube but in short, it's very close to the one in the film and although is essentially a tall black tower, has some nice detailing inside (it's a cut-away model).

I had one small problem with three small gear pieces jamming half-way on a technic rod when building the Ent. I had to punch the rod through with a small screwdriver and hammer, but after that the pieces went on fine. I also ended up with four 1x4 tiles in light brown instead of dark brown, but that's hardly a capital offense. The only other thing wrong was that the "palantir" didn't really light up with the light switch - at least as much as the one on the YouTube review seems to. I suspect that the Lego version is more transparent (difficult to tell on the video). I substituted with a glass marble and it looks fine - actually, even better.

There were a few small extra pieces, including a set of hand guns and walkie-talkies which I don't remember being in the books or the films, but it has been a while since I read/watched them...

XINGBAO basically IS Lepin. Its a sub brand where they get permission fromt he MOC designer to re-create their models, instead of ripping them off with no credit lke Lepin usually do. The Avro Brothers Alien and Chestbuster are released under XINGBAO with their approval for example.

@vaderface
As it probably means Lepin got approval from RoscoPC to release this, the other F1 cars could well follow. The Lotus looks nice !

Yep got the Alien, very interesting build, but bloody fragile!!
If they do release all the F1 sets would anyone know were to purchase/find/ print the correct stickers?
As the Akira/ Kenadas bike comes with non correct stickers for copyright reasons i believe.

The original plans can be purchased here https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-0840/RoscoPC/ferr... but I can't see any stickers for sale.

Strangely the MOC has 1737 parts and the Xingbao model has 2405 parts.

Number discrepancies are pretty standard in the “chinese” sets.

The latest UCS falcon has 7541 pieces in the original lego set - the Lepin version apparently has 8445.....

This is due to having to make up some parts yourself, mini figures for example you have to attach the arms & legs yourself. I think it's this and other parts that make up the part count.

Its finished - the new UCS Milennium Falcon - all 7000 odd pieces......

There was 1 piece missing and about 30/40 leftover, so not bad really......

Its huge, and really quite heavy.....

Very impressed with Gelida, I ordered Wall-e on 06/11, shipped on 10/11 via ePacket and attempted delivery 15/11 (No-one was in, so I had to collect from the post office yesterday). Bags were numbered from 1-18 and all pieces are present - including x2 a piece that isn’t in either the Lego or Lepin instructions anywhere, which caused a little confusion!

Wall-e is the first Lepin set I’ve received, and I’m very impressed. You can tell it’s not lego when you’re putting it together, but if anything the clutch is better on Lepin than Lego, and all my blue technic pieces (which I know people have had to replace with real Lego in the past) hold fine and fit perfectly in the holes, so maybe Lepin have improved their manufacturing recently. Very excited to receive the other sets now; and my fiancé is already eyeing up all the UCS sets!

Toys Factory shipped the VW Camper on 14/11 via DHL, and they attempted delivery 16/11. I’ve had to put it on hold because H&H haven’t actually shipped my other item yet (they listed it as shipped 3 hours before it auto-cancelled, but I have yet to receive a working tracking number) which is also coming via DHL and apparently my local depot (Glasgow) don’t offer Saturday delivery, so I’m going to have to drive half an hour to Paisley to collect them, which I’m not willing to do two weeks in a row!
Fingers crossed H&H will ship soon because I’m getting impatient!

Edit: H&H have finally sent me a working tracking number this morning, but so far all it says is info received, so it’s still not actually shipped. Progress, but their communication has been absolutely terrible.

I know this isn't a for sale thread but i'm trying to get rid of 3 sets i bought last year. Palace Cinema, Greengrocer & Grand Emporium. Wary about putting them on Ebay with the amount of idiots probably expecting the genuine article. Anyone interested?

How do the bags tie in with the instructions?

JJ
Dear Problemchild1976:

The Lepin bags are numbered (sealed as well as ziplock) -- but I have not been able to correlate their numbering with the instruction book. Every time, upon receiving the brown box, I spread out all the bags and then mail the seller that I am confirming receipt of 'X' number of bags and 1 instruction booklet. So, in my case, after the bag number check, I have had to open ALL the bags at one go.

I have ordered 3 Lepin items - the Porsche, the 20007 and 20010 cranes over the last few months. I bought the cranes from H&H (Kitty) who responds very quickly. I have some missing parts but Kitty has confirmed that she will ship them once I send the pictures. Since I have 2 more items coming from H&H (the Marauder jeep & the All terrain truck- blue), I intend to send her a list only once I open the next 2 boxes as well.

Regards,
SKR

I wouldn't bank on much in the way of savings. Last year, most sellers just seemed to jack up their pre-11.11 prices and then show them as marked down to the pre-11.11 selling price by way of discount. Smoke and mirrors....
I spent a decent amount on 11.11 but I agree that generally, the 11.11 sale was NOT a big saver. I had been tracking some items on Aliexpress and talking to Kitty at H&H and in the end, just bought the 2 items that I wanted at H&H for a small discount. In all, I would say, I got around 8-10$ off on an order of 200+$.

I could have got the prices lower at other sellers but did not venture to unknown/ untried sellers as my earlier experience with H&H was very good- so I was OK with paying more.

Mine's due to arrive today smile

Stupid question but how do you check if you have bits missing? Just count out all the pieces?!

I just got to the end off building and found about 3 pieces missing did not count out pieces before . If you can get hold of a picking list that is on the back page of the original Lego manual it lists each item how many and colour etc certainly helps as with the Lego is a page per build unlike Lepin with 9 stages to a page and care has to be taken as some colours are close .Enjoy the build

very difficult to know. sometimes the bags are numbered but the printing is very hit and miss. If it does have bag numbers on the last 2 digits can be used as such: I lay mine out from 0-9, 10-19 etc in columns on the floor as the bags are all very different sizes etc.

Then you can see if one bag in the set eg bag 32 is missing. If a bag is missing (happened to me only once) then you can try and ascertain what piece are missing, but most times they're all there. I don't worry then about any odd pieces being missing from inside bags as that would take too long

Might be interested in Grand Emporium and Palace Cinema, already have the Greengrocer. What sort of price are you looking for?
