Just stumbled on this. To save me reading all 63 pages could someone tell me the basics on the big Millenium Falcon?

Where to buy?
How much?
How long to arrive?
Any duty etc paid?

My lad is getting into Lego and is a big Star Wars fan. Rather than splash out on the genuine article I get all precious about it I would rather go the non-genuine lower cost route.

1. Aliexpress - it's like ebay - just pick a seller with lots of positive feedback
2. £150-ish
3. If in stock, it can be with you in less than a week, if it's shipped through DHL. 7-10 days is around the norm.
4. As ever, luck of the draw. I've imported 4-5 sets bought off Aliexpress and only got a customs demand (£4-5) on one of them.

Be aware though - there's an awful lot of speculation, including from sources who have been reliable in the past - that there is a new UCS Falcon coming later in the year, perhaps linked to the 40th anniversary. It won't be cheap though - £500-600 seems to be the mooted price point.

Separately, I note that there's already a knock off version of the Saturn V ideas set available (admittedly as "pre-sell" rather than available). Can't imagine TLG is very happy about that, since it doesn't officially release until June 1st......

Although I have given myself an unspoken rule of only buying Lepin for sets which are discontinued, I think if they re-released the Falcon, I'd still get the Lepin version, £500+ for a Lego set is just obscene to me, even if it is 5000+ pieces and the "biggest" set they've built. I paid £350 (which I think was RRP) for the SSD and I don't think I'd be prepared to pay more than that on Lego.

Just remembered I have a Lepin GT3 RS sat under my desk. Never been built and is the unboxed version (So its a plain brown box full of brick bags). Was about £100 if I remember correctly.

No idea what its worth and what they are on the web now, but I am having a clear out and need to get rid.

Would like payment via Paypal Gift... make me a sensible offer via email.

Ordered the Lepin Porsche GT3 Orange one from H&H on the 28th April arrived last night 2nd May via DHL.Excellent service and paid £65 .
Not sure if I have bitten of more than I can chew looks very daunting all those pieces ,I have been given the original Lego manual so this may help and also have a PDF file as well .
One question for all you seasoned builders ..Ali express want a satisfaction confirmation note to say all is ok how can one do this as no way one can tell if every part is correct with all those packets and I will not be starting the build immediately any advice .
Brian
Just started very daunting with all those unidentified bags ...have got the Lego original manual and it has a list of all parts so easier for a check list ....all said and done great value inc deliver for £65 .Contacted seller H&H and said they would send any missing parts even it was months away before I completed it .

Lepin only did the orange one, Ben. The green and white (and I think blue?) versions were Decool.

so this has now arrived

Looking forward to building it.

Did official Lego Snowspeeder and free R2 build too

Snowspeeder is great but I ALMOST missed the Lepin style build of sorting into bricks first rather than build by bag the Lego way. Great set though...looks fantastic and some great detail. Also, Lepin manuals are better than official Lego ones...at least the Snowspeeder...it felt very cheap. I also prefer the Lepin way of outlining the pieces you are putting on each step

I've always planned to buy the current sets and only want sets unavailable to normal peeps from likes of Lepin.

Ask a favour .

Has anyone dabbled with the trains at all?

My 4 year old likes the look of the Lego trains and there is an offer of the high speed LEGO train down to less than £80 at the moment from the like of Argos etc.

However to avoid boredom of 1 train I'm thinking about purchasing a couple of lepin trains as they're a good price.

I also need more track and have seen the replica and can put up with the difference in colour but it's still quite expensive from what I have understood.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Col.

Have a look through the non-technic Lego thread, there's someone who has quite a few I'm sure.

Hello all I am brand new to the forum but have been stalking this thread for a while. I have bought a few Lepin sets over the past few months mainly from Aliexpress and have had varying levels of success with different sellers (missing parts, prolonged postage). I recently found a new seller who works independently, accepts paypal and often works out cheaper.

I bought the UCS millennium falcon (Lepin 05033) from him and have another order on the way, you can communicate with him via email and whatsapp. He will send out regular updates on tracking, uses Royal Mail (in the UK) and knows his way around customs. He answers promptly - I even woke him up once!

Just to be clear I have no affiliation with this guy I am just a buyer like all of you who is passing on some useful information (and doing him a favour) Don't believe me? Send him a message and ask for a quote

Do a search on youtube for reviews of Lepin trains. Apparently their magnets are nothing like the Lego ones so you have to replace those parts. Also, the wheels (I can verify this personally) do not roll anywhere like Lego wheels do. So, you have to replace those as well.

Just those simple changes and you will have yourself some VERY nice trains at a fraction of the price (more like closer to the price Lego should be charging).

Finally got around to finishing my Lepin Greengrocer. One missing piece, 3 spares and one spare malformed brick. Quality is good enough for the price and I wouldn't be paying the current going rate for the genuine set anyway.
