Woohoo! Y-wing UCS arrived today 5 days after dispatch (China to UK), very impressed. Only 1 grey lever missing which I can live with as Bricklink sellers want around £8! I already bought some replacements (canopy and connectors, flat silver piping) as I heard these parts were duff. Just gotta build it now!

Canopy piece was fine on mine but the silver piping is terrible to be fair.
I had to use blue tac on mine to make the white connectors and axle pieces stick together.
Does look good when displayed tho.

Nice to see this thread still going 1 year on today! party

Hmm, blutack frown so, would you advise that I buy some white connectors? Btw, that GB HQ looks awesome!

Depends if you ever want to rebuild it, Mine is just for display so i would Kragle or use blu tack.
Just to give you an idea how bad the piping is.

Yeah, I knew the piping was bad so I ordered proper piping via bricklink prior to buiilding. I will prob just use your method of blutack as I plan to disassemble this in the future to let my son build it when he is old enough.

Having recently discovered Lepin, I also recently started following this thread, and have actually read all the posts starting from page 1. I found the forum very informative and quite enjoyable to read. I'm a big Lego fan, but like many, find it difficult to justify paying thousands of dollars for a retired set. Enter Lepin.

The first Lepin set I bought was the SSD that I ordered from AliExpress. The purchase and subsequent build experience were good all around. I also managed to find a number of stores in a Chinese mall where I live, who have prices that are even better than AliExpress and sell the sets with boxes. So far I have bought the SSD, ISD, UCS MF, UCS Tyridium, and UCS TI (and the Republic Gunship and Sith Interceptor cause they were right there in front of me and oh so cheap). Will post some pics of the builds and some commentary on the product quality and experience. Hopefully useful to some of you out there.

The SSD was one of my first Lepin builds (second only to the Tie Interceptor), and I have to say I was very impressed. The brick quality was generally very good, there were no clutch issues, no missing or malformed pieces, and the end result was fantastic.

SSD arrived in the standard inconspicuous brown box within 8 days of order

Parts were tightly packed

And there were lots of them

Day 1 progress

Mid-build

The finished product

Another view

The OK-quality minifigures. Note the missing hand on Dengar (OK, so there was one missing piece)

The collection so far

I'm disappointed by this, the Y-wing was next (or close to next) on my list of Lepin to get, what exactly is the issue you're having?

Issue one the grey piping is bloody awful as said. Doesnt bother me personally as just displayed for myself.
Main build issue, Inside the white connectors on the wing are white axles and they have ZERO! clutch with connectors.
Hence you look at it and it WILL fall apart laugh

phone pic if it helps.

Unless your a perfectionist i,d say get it as it does look good when complete.

It is UCS after all.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this set to you. It really is good and an interesting build - plus very cheap biggrin. I haven't got to the rear section yet with the rear connectors but tested them and can confirm they are loose. I have had to buy a lego replacement for one of them as it was off-colour. If this gives a tighter fit I will just order pieces from bricklink to replace. Will let you know how it goes.

Excellent first post and welcome! smile

Would love to see pics of the MF and Shuttle builds, if you have yet to do the ISD read my post from a few pages ago, I had real problems with the hull panels and the magnets etc, in the end I had to Kragle it to make them hold, otherwise it would have just continually fell apart, but it is the most impressive set I own now it's complete and on display.
