Have been lurking in this thread a lot. These Lego alternatives..... is the quality much removed from genuine Lego?
And what is the customs cost hit like?
Yourwobb Cada 919 - 10/10 quality indistinguishable from Lego. Fast shipping, no customs. And what is the customs cost hit like?
AliExpress "King*" Hogwarts UCS - 8/10 no numbered bags, a handful of low clutch strength pieces, 2 missing pieces. Customs charged on delivery.
Jeremy Whatsup "Lepin" Black GT3 - 6/10. Lots of missing pieces that took a couple of months to replace, gearbox quite sticky. No customs charged.
Compared to Lego all were 10/10 value for money.
- Advertised as the well regarded King brand, almost certainly wasn't.

I have 5 Lepin sets;
UCS Falcon
UCS AT-ST
UCS R2-D2
UCS Star Destroyer
And the Bugatti.
I find, as others have said, the clutch can be a bit hit and miss, but to be honest, it's way more hit than miss. The worst bits are the technic connectors, which can be a bit more hit and miss as far as clutch goes. I haven't personally noticed any colour issues with my sets. And I'd have no issues buying more, mainly because I'd like to get all the Star Wars UCS sets that I've missed.
For value for money it's excellent, plus they do some of the really good MOCs, like the Battlestar Galactic Viper and UCS scale Republic Cruiser (though these ones are pretty expensive, they're still good value in my view, as getting the correct Lego pieces to build them would still be hugely expensive).

Found Loy Chen at Your Wobb to be the best thus far have tried the others and all are poor ,he normally gets back to you within 24hrs ,payed no customs thus far have bought about 5 sets from him good supplier ,yes you may get a piece missing faulty but sorted on return ,just a pity it takes time to come from China.
Joooooy are brilliant, by far the best we have used, great communication through messenger too.

Is that on aliexpress? Sorry, for some reason my head isn't engaging this morning.
No, direct from their website - https://joooooy.com/
They have a very active FB page for Q&As etc too, although also very popular with Germans, so a lot is auto translated.

I’ve placed 6-7 orders over the past year with no issues and shipping within 7-14 days. Sometimes stuff is on AliE a bit cheaper, but I’d rather pay a couple of quid more for quick delivery and to know it’s going to come.

See, I wish you weren’t all so positive about this...... I now need to convince the wife we need a 1.2m long Imperial Destroyer.
Is this positive enough? Missing said 1.2m Imperial Destroyer. I daren't move it.

Whats changed about Non-EU duties? Thought our trade deal was with europe only and everything else has carried on with the old commercial invoice and tariff code system of old?
Technically almost nothing. It's just that the rules have changed so that VAT has to be collected by the sellers rather than at customs and the low value rate has been abolished.
This means for example if you buy something on aliexpress for £100 you'll get hit with a VAT fee of £20 on checkout rather than a nasty letter from the scammers at parcel farce asking for £20 plus an £8 "handling charge".
The downside (for the buyer) is that the fibbing about the value no longer works for the VAT (although will still for duty).
