It’s actually not, they are all nice and clear, and fast and responsive too.

As I said earlier it’s great that it works so fast on the menu compared to my much more expensive Spektrum DX6 R.

The real issue with the DX6R is that it’s android based, but they have locked the android os, meaning when something goes wrong, as it has on mine, even a factory reset won’t fix it, so it has to go back to the factory, mine is currently bricked again now, which really is a pain.

The real issue with the OS on my DX6R is the slow user interface.

I was sold because of the menu and range of features, in reality it’s so bug ridden you spend all your time messing with the Android setup, in stead of just getting out and driving or boating or whatever.

Weirdly I could never get on with trigger and wheel no matter how much I tried even as a kid when you would thing you would pick it up easier.

Good old joysticks for me. Mind you shows you how much tech has changed. I don’t suppose you have to swap out coloured crystals on that thing.

That’s a good point, I too prefer good old sticks, because it’s what we first learnt to drive on, there were no steering wheel radios back in my day as a lad.

All my cars up until a few years ago we’re all on stick radios, and I still have them, the one that got used the most was my Hitec Flash 4 40MHZ FM Radio, which I still have now, but it’s seen better days.

I also have a Airtronics/Sanwa stick radio, that I bought for my Rock Crawler, as it has specific modes, that allows for DIG centre servo switching.

But when it comes to pan car racing at our local track ( if it ever opens up again that’ is!) you need fast reaction radios and steer wheel is where that’s at.

I also believe this radio supports a 3ms response time too, but I might have misread that.

Yes I was correct on the 3ms response time!

Equipped with our newest RF technology, AFHDS 3, the Flysky Noble NB4 is now the most flexible option for cars and boats. Enable sports mode for extra low latency down to 3ms. Easy to view and use color touch screen for changing system settings.

And here’s a link to the product too, I think I get points on hobby king if someone else buys one on my Referals?

I’m the same and would love a stick controller for my Kyosho Nitro Mad Crusher but I don’t know if a compatible one is available.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If I was going down a stick route I would look at one of these, KO Propo have always been the best in my opinion.

They are pretty price though, and extra receivers are not cheap either.

Indeed, I did warn you.

I also looked quite closely at this Futaba stick radio too, a very nice high quality item as always from Futaba.

But again pricy for what it is, when you compare to my new Noble, it’s almost twice the price.

I’ve always been 2 sticks, I can’t stand the pistol stuff.
My TRX4 came with one, I ripped out the receiver and swapped it for n AR620 before it turned a wheel.
I use a Spektrum DX6E, I really like it, and it wasn’t big money

This is the air version of my Car based Airtronics radio, the RDS8000.

http://sanwa-denshi.com/rc/sky/propo/rds8000.html

I don’t think they sell them any more sadly, but is a very nice simple to use stick computer radio.

I got mine from Tower hobbies I think, when they were about $160 US dollars including two receivers.

Mine is also on the way, can't wait! You can also use them as 8 or 10 channel now too...

Here's the page that has the firmware download link to bump the transmitter up from 4 to 8 channels, to match:

Cool! I’m not sure I have any surface models that need 8 channels, though it’s great that it can be upgraded like that using firmware updates alone.

I’m loving mine already, it’s really nicely balanced in your hand, and I even like the voice prompts from the nice lady.

^^^ There be r/c pron here.

On a more modest note, the TT-02 chassis is hopped up and finished, Porsche ‘73 body painted, just the Fuchs (no sniggering at the back) alloys to do...

This is a brand new model from Chinese company HengGuan. It is called the HG-P417 "Middle East 4x4 Pickup" but in reality it is a clone of the Tamiya Toyota Hilux High Lift with 3-speed gearbox.

The quality is impressive considering that the price is significantly less than the iconic Tamiya product. Here is an image:

For a full detailed overview of this model, google search channel "BlackSeaRC".

Oh yes, but we all started with an Acoms Techniplus.

Funny thing is, I now can’t remember what servos we had, of course they would have been acoms, but must have been Pretty basic.

How we have all moved on!

I think the last Acoms servos I had were AS-16s? Not too long ago, perfectly serviceable hobby grade. I loved the Technidrive which came with my Boomerang bundle in the late 80s, felt really futuristic! Must dig that out.
