Hi, they're RC4WD 1.55 Mud Thrashers
Quite expensive new, I got these as a used set and the stamped wheels. Lugs have gone rusty but hey... it's realistic!
yea agree quite a bit of money. They look perfect on the defender. I was on the brink of ordering some too for the scale look but after going up the woods with one of the boys (ooh err) and struggling to keep up on the standard Venture tyres I aired on the cautious side and chose some GMade MT1901s on Gmade SR02 steel wheels. Won't look quite as good but should provide more grip. Quite expensive new, I got these as a used set and the stamped wheels. Lugs have gone rusty but hey... it's realistic!
Enjoy!
I finished the first in a series of new shells for my vintage racers, based on iconic racing liveries but re-worked using my racing colours of yellow, silver, white and black.
This is a Schumacher CAT XL 2wd, built from a re-release XLS using a Penguin reproduction of the Frewer Dog for Cat shell and is influenced by the Gold Leaf Lotus' of the late 60's and early 70's.

That looks very cool, well done on a great-looking build. This is a Schumacher CAT XL 2wd, built from a re-release XLS using a Penguin reproduction of the Frewer Dog for Cat shell and is influenced by the Gold Leaf Lotus' of the late 60's and early 70's.
As a side note, are you referring to this Penguin?

If so how was their service? Asking for a friend...

I've not heard of that Penguin before - I was referring to this one:

eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/penguinbodyshells?_trks...
They're reproduction bodyshells are excellent and they even supply some shells direct to Schumacher now.

Looks great. But, the indicator lenses should be at the bottom and the sidelights up the top and illuminated.
I did the same on my hardbody - drilled the holes for the larger indicator LEDs up the top and then when I fitted the lenses (which can’t be fitted incorrectly) realised I made an error and had to sleeve the holes to take the smaller sidelight LEDs.

He’s right of course, that’s the way they should be on a real defender, here’s ours with LED side and indicators on out 1:1 scale 90.But, the indicator lenses should be at the bottom and the sidelights up the top and illuminated.

A lot of people swap them around on real cars though too.
Tamiya have just announced the Yaris GR which may be of interest on here

My RC boats
smaller is powered by twin Lehner 2250's,
larger is powered by twin Lehner 3040's
small one will do 110-120, larger i'm building for 110-130.
Some interior pics of the larger one i opted for a custom honeycomb layer of carbon.. still in the process of building it.
Niiiiice - nothing like drilling into custom made composite components!!!....only today I was musing over one of my old Etti hull with a view to resurrection.... I used to be into my fast electrics but the loss of use of the local lake made it less convenient for me. I am interested to know more about the hulls and numbers involved - amps and cells (I know the other numbers are large) smaller is powered by twin Lehner 2250's,

As per my post above with the white foamy glider.....the other end of the spectrum is this flying razor blade...
Its called a 1.5meter discus launched glider, I THROW it up to around 50m+ and thermal from there, it is very light (190g) and slippery made of carbon fibre and high performance - capable of floating down in 2 minutes in dead air or hooning around at 60+ on the slope. Nothing flies like one of these things.
Well,
the smaller Hpr 115 - from the famous "hans peter" also known as swiss modelboat- no longer in production; is a full carbon hull i've had a few years but never really got around to sorting, he also made a 99, 135, 150, 185 and 233 version - relating to centimetres.
Setup is general day to day use 7s lipo, i use 'SLS' cells as i believe these to be the best, i have a magnum v2 and quantum 65c set both 5000mah.
for SAW which is basically fastest time through the speed traps i have a 8s setup which depending on the props is a 120mph setup, problem is when you start getting to these speeds you really start to stress the hulls in crashes anything north of 100 is almost like hitting concrete. (i believe i already have the UK speed record with this boat at 107mph - not verified and this is a gps speed not from the speed traps) with my medium size props... will try for faster but probably save it for a official event.
the controllers are from Germany, a custom special edition AS26-150 / 200 called the AS26-XXX it took me a year to get them..
Motors are Lehner 2250/7 ~1577KV- i actually have a new set in my luggage for the boat.
props 47 - 52mm i have 3 sets depending on what i want to achieve on a daily basis.
The larger boat is from Kulz customs "Exocet 150" - a friend of the former manufacturer hans peter
setup is as follows
Lehner 3040/9 ~1100KV
Schulz 40.160 - old school - regarded as the best ESC ever made for a boat... price reflects this
Lipos 8/9/10s depending on how fast i want to go
props around the 60mm mark
Here is some video of similar boats / setups from ze Germans, they have a much bigger scene than we do in the UK - i'm one of only a handful of people running boats of this size / speed
This is a similar setup to my small boat although i'd run in L8 class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChkgzYdi7t0
and the bigger one (this current boat is actually for sale right now) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2Y1wuSMQts
