I personally rate the TT01 type E over the TT02 in terms of build "slop", steering on the Type E is well resolved. Also TT01 has steel bevel gears in the diffs which makes them a bit more robust.
Some of the TT02 versions come with Short Reversible Suspension (like a TA series chassis) which is infinitely better still. But by that point you're not far off a "proper" chassis. Slippery slope!

After building a TT02 Replica of my real Mustang, I decided to do the same with my WRX Brat.
Built in Drift Spec with a gyro. I was going to run it, and I have had a go of it but I've made it too nice to use really, my plan was to use a hard Brat body but to be honest I don't know if I can be bothered with the hassle of painting the hard body after the poly one came out so well.
The rear body posts were pushed across slightly when I took these pics so the wheels actually tuck in more that it looks on the rear shot.

Love that! Tell me more. Any pics that show it's size?
It's an Orlandoo Hunter, pretty tiny but manageable - although it appears my eyes aren't what they were for close work - the size of the screws for assembly was a surprise, looking at the manual you'd imagine they were a more normal 1:10 size! It's painted in Tamiya AS19 with some heavy weathering - hard to get right, but I'm pretty pleased with it. The hardest part was soldering and cable management really. Still some light bleed to resolve from the SMD LEDs and then I'm done.
This is it for scale:
Another lockdown impulse build, CAT XLS. This is the first rc (or any model for that matter) I’ve built in well over 20yrs and has definitely proven how out of practise with the paint I’ve become. Planning to get a second shell to have another go, as there’s definitely room for improvement... Underneath it’s running a brushless 8.5t and LiPo - with the upgrade transmission, so it certainly goes well!
Rather than start a thread I was hoping to ask for a bit of advice in here, after a RTR for my son for Christmas and gone through the various websites looking at HPI, Absima, FTX etc and think I have settled on the HPI Phantom, what’s the view on it?
Seems to have some pretty good YouTube reviews that take it for what it is at that price point, would probably get one of the batter pack add ons too.

Thanks.

That looks great, am thinking similar for my boys for Christmas. Seems to have some pretty good YouTube reviews that take it for what it is at that price point, would probably get one of the batter pack add ons too.
