11s!

I wonder if it is possible to build an rc burnout car? I might need to look in to that.

I have it sat in a box for over 4 years!

It was from #thebuildrc but I’m. Not sure they are around any more.

I paid $100 for it when the dollar to pound was quite favorable.

I’ve seen some places in China advertising them for about $150 US.

Let me see if the links still work!

4yrs? Reckon I can beat that with a load of kits!

This Christmas I'll be using my two weeks off to make some progress... he says!

Have some shiny carbon parts for the Tamiya RM-01 Porsche 956 (I bought and haven't built ~7yrs ago) sitting in a basket.

Waiting on the potential Black Friday sales etc. Also want some low profile 2S LiPos for my pan cars to pep 'em up.

Then there is the Hornet to refurbish, VBC Firebolt DM to fix and refurb, Firebolt DM2 to build... those little Nitro engines we bought!

Oh and a Kyosho Plazma Porsche 962 that has to be 4-odd years, unbuilt in the box!

Wonder what else I have lurking in the garage?! Would be nice to get back to Surrey and Hants to use the Firebolts in 2021!

Yes I got the Tyrrell because we used to think it looked fantastic back in the 80’’s Taimya catalog that we would study for hours as lads!

Could never afford on back then of course! So I scratch built most of my RC cars back then!

In contrast to the shiny cars - Below is the Arrma Typhon i share with my son alongside a modified tamiya midnight pumpkin, I bought this as I already had a few 3s battery's already.

It has the 20T pinion fitted and it flies!!!
It easily does 60mph on grass and despite the fact it is never going to handle like a lighter race bred machine the durability and clever, easy to maintain design of these really can't be underestimated!!

It has taken a beating every time it has gone out.... It has been stuck in trees and done the full kevin Talbot 30ft in the air multiple times with some unbelievably bad landings with no breakages apart from having just had its chassis replaced and one turnbuckle that had bent....

Our favourite spot in the woods -its about 3 times the size pictured...

Got a few.

Started with reliving my childhoods through my son, and bought him a Lunchbox for his 9th.

It has literally done hundreds of miles, and is basically the RC equivalent of triggers broom. I think it's on its third or fourth chassis now...

But this is current line-up...

- The Lunchbox now sports a 4000kv brushless and we run it on 2s lipo - it will sit on the wheelie bar all the way down the road. 3s and it's uncontrollable!
- The boys super modified TT-02b. All the hop-up parts including DF-01 metal diffs etc, 4600kv brushless and 3s. It's quick and breaks nearly every time we take it out.
- My oddball Camaro bodied 2nd hand something-or-other by a company called Reely. Photo above was from when I first got it - certainly doesn't look that good condition now... Another 4600kv and 3s lipo. However, this thing is fast. Really (reely!) fast.. No idea about the gearing, but it leaves the TT-02b for dead. However, this one breaks EVERY time we take it out. It is clearly not designed to have a brushless motor in it...

All three are brilliant fun and all in different ways. The lunchbox will always be the winner though, it's just such a simple, silly and bloody tough little thing.

With the cr*p weather over the weekend managed to get some more work done on the TT02.

Yeah Racing oil dampers.

Cheeky split rims

Next i need to tackle the body shell.

Some pictures of my TT01 type E next to my new TT02.

Also today this bad boy turned up. Getting harder to find as discontinued. Great new in box condition. Cant bring myself to build it.....yet.

Another lockdown impulse build, CAT XLS. This is the first rc (or any model for that matter) I’ve built in well over 20yrs and has definitely proven how out of practise with the paint I’ve become. Planning to get a second shell to have another go, as there’s definitely room for improvement... Underneath it’s running a brushless 8.5t and LiPo - with the upgrade transmission, so it certainly goes well!
I can't compete with Raouls paintjob, but as per the other thread, my CAT XLS is also complete...
