I have quite a few Rastar RC vehicles in my collection. They are popular amongst collectors as they are very scale realistic and have great detailing for their price. They are fully licensed and built to a high quality standard and for this reason, many people buy them just as display models. If you do want to drive them, they are good RC cars for indoor use or outside if the surface is reasonably smooth and flat. They are also easy to drive for children. Because the bodies are so nice, there are also a lot of people who upgrade them with hobby grade electronics. This totally transforms them performance wise.

The latest addition to my collection is a 1:14 scale replica of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 limited edition track car, designed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of collaboration between Porsche Motorsport and Manthey-Racing. To see this RC car in close-up detail and to find out more interesting details about the real vehicle, please check the video below:

Am thinking of buying an RC car, bought myself a little £120 one off Temu and to be fair its alright, though had expected it to be the rapid brushless version but its the brushed one, its reasonably fast but not quite hitting the spot.

Just want something to "bash", my brother ha a couple of RC's when we were kids, Hornet and Optima Mid Custom, I bought and built a Tamiya Dark Impact a good few years back but never had much luck with it, was slow out of the box and I upgraded to an ESC and whatever turns tuned motor and first run out it the ESC burst into flames, flogged it on ebay having got annoyed at how much I had spent vs minimal fun.

So, years later the Brushless RTR stuff appeals, want something that looks fairly realistic, not intot he ones where its a iny truck body and massive wheels stuck miles out, they are great but I like a bit of realism.

Been looking at the Arrma Mojave, not sure whether to go for the 1/8 scale 4s model or the 6s 1/7 model, which may be a bit of overkill, any other suggestions ?

I love the Arrma Senton 3s personally. It's silly quick, needs skill to drive and seemingly unbreakable.

I’ve just resurrected this LC Racing 1/14 stadium truck, now converted to truggy (pending missing rear wing). I bought it during lockdown and it has been sitting in its box for over two years.

Great piece of kit for the size and price, might gift it to my nephew who seems to have taken an interest in my old collection of RC cars, all in various states of disrepair.

A new addition - 1/10 Cross RC NT4 unimog

Nice model with lockable front and rear diffs from the transmitter.
I plan on scaling it up with the optional aluminium load bed with tented canvas cover and various scale parts,
I am also considering weathering it although I have never tried any weathering before...

Couple of new additions this week.

Original Tamiya manta ray which is as good as new, amazing really for its age. Missing the body but will get a repo for it.

A Kyosho shadow, condition not bad for its age.

My yokomo 870c ready for paint, thinking of silver or gun metal grey with the masami decals.

The Lasernut buggy needs a serious overhaul of the front and rear uprights, possibly a new set.

The wheels aren't the most true and an incident where nudging a kerb with the RH rear resulted in the driveshaft shearing has led me to confine it to the bench.

I found afterwards that the lost wheel weighed 560g including water which has soaked into the foam. That, combined with the less-than ideal wheel mounting concept (12mm hex with very large diameter wheels) and loose fitting wheel bearings on all wheels makes me wonder how long it would be before another wheel escapes. The steering and suspension linkages are also worn.

The buggy was second-hand and seems to have had a hard life. So far the ratio of repair to running time is around 4:1 :-(

Snip: I believe a rerelease is coming so a body should be easy. If you need original-spec decals try MCI Racing.

My & the little lad got these

Well i initially bought the E-Revo for him then realised its capability was probs a bit much for him so bought him the RTX Carnage

Dad .. can i get a shot of yours please .... i had just changed the gearing & setting up the twin batteries, so it was capable of 50mph

Only had it out two minutes & BANG

Needless to say it took a bit of damage

All sorted now

Ever since I got my first RC buggy in the 1980's, I have always had wheeled vehicles but recently I purchased my first RC for the water. I wanted to try something a bit different and I chose the new UDIRC UDI023PRO Inkfish 1:10 scale RTR RC personal watercraft. This is a simulated jet-drive style craft with shaft-drive impeller. It has a 3500KV brushless motor and a marine grade water-cooled 80A ESC. It comes without a rider so I selected a 6 inch TBLeague seamless body figure to act as a pilot and improve the already great scale realism. You can see the craft, all its features, the rider figure and how it performs on a rocky mountain river test-run in the video below:
