Maybe 20 years ago when I was younger, I used to make these little metal car kits that had decals etc. BMW e36 springs to mind alongside a jaguar xj220.

Do such models still exist?

You can still find Bburago kits, mostly in 1/24th now.

Eg:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012OETYCE/ref...

Maisto also do some.

How time flies! When I was at University I made a bit of pocket money building white metal car kits. I can't remember many makers, but Western Models was one, and Pirate and DG Models were two makers who did repro and retro versions of Dinky and other toys. I still have a few that I managed to buy for myself.
