Thanks guys, much appreciated. I just noticed I left off the oil tank cap. I’ll sort it sometime.

Thinking about it, the colour of RAF trainers have gone through a lot of phases - yellow/camo, yellow, silver/yellow, silver/orange, red/white/grey, I’m sure there are more. The irony is, they seem to have settled on Black for now.

Thanks! Next plastic is finishing the Macchi.202 and the robot thing. Next new one...not sure. Zero or Beaufighter maybe.

The change to Gloss Black was for training a/c operated at low level - gloss black stands out better when you 'skyline' an a/c. The Jetstream, for eg, never went into a Black scheme but remained Red/White/Grey. The King Air also never went into Black but remained White/Blue

Rigging is most impressive. I had my Nieuport rigged with copper wire, which didn't turn out well. And that is 1:48 compared to this 1:72. Everything is taken off now and I will try again. Previous attempt was too embarrassing to post here.

I usually only browse the Pistonheads forums on my phone, but just happened to be using a tablet this morning, really glad I am though, those pictures, and the finished model are stunning.

Would love to see a Beaufighter, if you are taking requests!

Oh dear. Why not try my method - it’s really the easiest way of doing it?

Thanks very much. I’ll do the Beaufighter, although it’s a pretty boring grey colour out of the box.

I saw a similar one at Cosford a few weeks ago:

The upper camo on that one goes all the way down the fuselage though.

I love Duxford, it's great.

Turns out it’ll be this next, which arrived yesterday, just in time for my trip to Ladybower on the 16th to watch the 75th Dambusters anniversary flypast:
