The L1 is getting good write ups over on Oople, but, and it may not be a problem to you, it's £440 plus motor, esc, servo, tyres, battery.........

The K2 is currently being sold at a much reduced rate, see here https://www.modelsport.co.uk/schumacher-cat-k2-kit... 3 months ago the asking price was £100 more.

This thread has got me thinking. Should I opt for the lunchbox over a Boomerang/Hotshot or Bigwig? The lunchbox does seem quite fun for a back garden rc.

Any thoughts from current owners?

I revived my now nearly 30 year old Midnight Pumpkin a couple of years ago. New batteries/radio gear and a new body shell which I painted a colour my daughter chose (pink, obvs).

It’s the same chassis as the Lunchbox (which my sis had as a kid and I’m going to get fixed up for her birthday soon). It’s great fun - wheelies and bouncing around. We take it to a nearby beach which has hard-packed sand.

I’ve promised my daughter we’ll choose another car to build together.

Do it..!

Funnily enough I did the exact same a few years ago, I did a bit of a photo diary that's still online: https://www.flickr.com/photos/92434579@N02/sets/72...

Had one of those when I was 13. Great fun. I kept painting it different colours. It started out yellow, then black, then light metallic blue.
