I really enjoyed this. I was a keen modeller in my childhood but never to that extent. Great work.
Thankyou really appreciated. Thought of taking model building back up again?, i starved myself from building models for quite some years. I didnt realise until recently how much i missed the smell of glue biglaugh. It could be the reason why i kept going. laughlaugh. Cheers
Well watching this tread has made me think about it - but write it off as I know I couldn't do it at this level (and I'd want to). I have a bit of a perfectionist streak and modelling definitely brings it out in me even more. I got frustrated that I couldn't get the finish I wanted. But the satisfaction of nailing a particular paint finish or 'look' was great.

Also, I think my eyesight is probably not up to it anymore!

Started the GT40, going to be a different challenge to get the detail into this trumpeter kit. Cheers
A great job with the 250GTO - and I'm looking forward to feeling equally envious of your skills, patience and eyesight with the GT40 (I have one in my 'sable' smile.)

Are you getting the full detail kit from KA or just their less comprehensive version?

Hi there again, good to hear from you. I had to buy the GT40 on a e-selling website. Your prone to double your investment now on a unstarted kit as it’s no longer available. I bought the spare wheel from another e- seller in Belgium and the full detail KA kit with seats from Australia which should “fingers crossed” arrive any time now. My investment in this so far is approx 1/3 of what I paid for the Ferrari and spare engine. So far I’ve stripped all the nodules off the engine and gearbox parts which are supposed to represent nuts and bolts and added Meng ones.Removing loads of chrome from the kit. Im trying my best to make the toylike engine parts look more realistic, like scribing gasket lines for the cylinder heads. I think I’ve got quite a bit of putty work to do on the engine before I get into the rest of the kit which actually looks good qualitywise.
I think I’m going to need to spend quite a lot of time doing research and corrections.
Cheers
