One work laptop - tiny screened Lenovo, one personal laptop - MacBookPro 2014
Monitor is Samsung LS34J552WQUXEN 34" Ultra Wide LED Monitor - WQHD 3440x1440

I have a USB switch with a button that allows me to use one keyboard, mouse, webcam on both devices. This is great. But I want to do the same with the video.

Bought a KVM HDMI and USB device:
HDMI KVM Switch 2 Port Switcher, Support UHD 4K @ 30Hz, Backward Compatibility, No Power Required, Includes 4 USB 2.0 Hubs and Cables

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B083TC68VQ/ref...
.

.
Tried it...the USB aspect is fine (just like my existing device), but the monitor does not detect any video signal from either laptop. I'm now guessing it's due to the spec which says only 4k @ 30Hz. Sending it back.

Anyone know of a similar KVM switch that has both the USB functionality AND the ability to switch HDMI outputs from the laptops to this WQHD screen?

Thanks.

My expensive solution for this issue was to buy a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and a Logitech Wireless keyboard which can pair to both machines and use the button/menu on the monitor to switch the display.

In the past I have tried a few KVM switches and never had much luck, ihared all the cables and often the button would switch 2 octet devices and miss one ....

Had an Aten brand KVM that did 4k@60hz (and just about anything below that) but it was displayport. No USB pass beyond keyboard/mouse and it was expensive too.

HDMI equivalent now is CS1822, around the £300 mark.

Now I just use a usb3 switch between machines for keyboard, mouse, headset, camera and switch inputs on the monitor as I need.
