Two-tone grey 2CV from Tamiya Charleston (M-05) kit, I don't believe such a variant existed, I just felt like painting it that way
Modified Lowride Pumpkin M-06. Winch works from a 3-position switch on the transmitter, lights from a potentiometer (which isn't ideal, but that's what the TX has).
Various scratch built odds & ends in the replaced planked load bed, basic (& reduced depth) interior with XR311/Cheetah driver heated, bent & sanded to a more upright position.
Both have had the stock wheels narrowed & find with Sand Scorcher front tyres, and both have magnetic body mounts.
2CV was a very quick build, the Pumpkin took the best part of seven years (!).

Reminds me of the Boomerang - I know the Hotshot(1) has very different rear suspension so guess the Hotshot 2 is based on the Boomerang or is it the other way around? 1st: Hotshot - monoshock front and rear suspension and a two-piece plastic monocoque chassis
2nd: Supershot - same chassis as above but with twin shocks front and rear
3rd: Boomerang - open top single piece "bathtub" chassis, twin shocks at the rear, monoshock at the front
4th: Bigwig - another new, bigger, chassis with twin shocks front and rear, celebrating 10 years of Tamiya in R/C
5th: Hotshot 2 (as my restored example) - same chassis as the Hotshot, twin shocks at the rear, front monoshock
6th: Super Sabre - Boomerang chassis, Hotshot 2 suspension
All used the same gearboxes, all except the Bigwig used the same front suspension arms and variations on a theme at the rear depending on shock position.
After this the next generation of 4WD hobby buggy appeared as the Thundershot.
Sorry about that

A fine selection there Dusty!
I have a pre-order in for 2 of the re release of the c11 Mercedes Benz which I am very much looking forward to getting later this year...
I am off to my local tamiya purveyor tomorrow on an unrelated matter and seeing as I haven't bought a new rc model for nearly a month i quite fancy a Blitzer Beetle or a Wild One.....

I'm alarmingly tempted by one of these. Is it a fun build? There is a fair amount to paint though....i primed/sanded/painted the shell and associated body parts...and the driver....and the helmet...and the jerry can....and the fire extinguisher.....and the nitrous bottle......and the supercharger...and the winch.....so the painting takes loads longer than the build ever will.
I prefer the building and painting to ever actually using them, and ideally the hard shell models (beetle/brat/willys/lunchbox). over the lexan models.

I was going to post on the other thread about how good it looked - really nice job.I haven't got the self control to not use something like that. I keep buying RCs with the intention of keeping mint as shelf queen's but I can't resist giving them a go and then they pick up a mark or two and they are another user....
This is why I ordered 2 of the C11 with a view to doing a weathered one with lights etc as a shelfer (I am running out of shelves) and the other for a speedrunner.....
Although I am going off the idea after a recent high speed crash

I'm the opposite! I get bored running them and I have to face the missus look of "How old are you anyway?!!!" I haven't got the self control to not use something like that. I used to race RC back in the nineties and can't match that buzz running up and down the road!
What a great thread. Prompted me to go in the loft and dig out my old FF01 VR6 and DF03 Keen Hawk. Acoms Techniplus 27mhz analogue stick controller had been left with the Asda brand alkaline batteries in which somehow haven't leaked! Whatever happened to Acoms? don't see them around anymore.
The Golf has had a very hard life, has an ESC and some sort of tuned brushed motor and motor heat sink.
The Keen Hawk has a Yeah Racing brushless system and McLaren inspired paint job.
Neither have run for years. Going to try and revive the NiMh stick packs this weekend. I have room at home to build an RC track, which is something I've been thinking to do if my son show an.interest.wjen he's a bit older.

Needs some parts now to get it back to as new.
I wonder what’s one of these original ones worth pre repairs and then fixed up?
