Excuse if this has been done before!

I fancied getting a new airbrush as my Aztek is probably getting on for 20years old now, you can’t get spares, and the nozzle doesn’t really give me enough detail.

I have a half decent compressor, this came with two cheap (but do the job ok!) double action airbrushes that I use one for laying down colour.

So I was after one that would give me detail and wouldn’t have to do wide areas.

Would something like this Badger be suited for what I wanted? (Roughly the budget I wanted to spend as I’m not a serious modeller!)

Have looked on the recommendation sections on a few sites and I think a few of them are for detail up to larger coverage!?

Quite like this for versatility, but I probably wouldn’t need the 2 needles, and possibly the quality looks not quite up there?

Thanks for any advice. Also, wanted top feed, and build plastic and balsa.

Take a look at Harder & Steenbeck. The Ultra 2 in 1 comes with 0.4 and 0.2mm needle and nozzle.

It does not have a limiter on the paint flow so a little more care is needed for fine work.

Thanks Starfighter, that was one that I meant to link to above.

Would you recommend personally then?

If it helps your decision I have two (yes I am greedy) H&S Ultra airbrushes which are very, very good in use.

I have two so two colours can be in use at a time.

Cleaning is easy, I advise getting a couple of airbrush nozzle cleaning needles and airbrush cleaning brushes.

You can tell I like mine can't you?

In fact I might but another but of the two size version suggested here, mine are the smaller size option which cost me about £60

I am on my second H&S and would recommend them. My first was an Ultra and the new one is the Evolution Silverline. I wanted some fine adjustment on the second stage paint control. ULTRA AND Silverline wise the same needle and nozzle sets.

I have the 2 in 1 ultra, good thing is you can get bits from Amazon too like needles and nozzles.

Another vote for the Ultra here. Had mine for 10 years and still works perfectly. Very easy to clean too!

Thanks everyone! Have gone for the H&S 2 - 1 now and received end of last week.

Looks really good quality (couldn't tell in the pic's!), but not had chance to try out yet.

Happy though an thanks for the advice

I went from Iwata to Harder and Steenbeck - couldnt get on with it at all - blocking, spattering etc went back to Iwata without a single problem using the same paints, thinners, ratios etc
