I have a small collection 1/43 cars and lorries, bought to populate my model railway, but the collection grew a little so a display cabinet became necessary.
Some of the lorries I have fitted with radio control so that they can earn a living running on the railway layout roads, transporting goods to the crane for loading onto the train.
Sounds like a great model railway, O-Gauge I assume, any pics? Some of the lorries I have fitted with radio control so that they can earn a living running on the railway layout roads, transporting goods to the crane for loading onto the train.

Yes 7mm scale with O gauge and narrow gauge track. The main feature is the working RC gantry crane. This is a 1/43 Altaya Bedford TK that started out as box trailer which I replaced with a scratchbuilt flatbed trailer. There are not many true 1/43 lorries out there, a lot of them are 1/50.
In this shot you can see the Morris Commercial, the standard gauge and narrow gauge plus the gantry crane. All the trains are DCC with on board sound with 'Stay-a-lives' for supper slow running.
As you will see, the layout is not very big but packs in a lot of action and generally attracts an audience at exhibitions.
The gantry crane has three motors, battery power and RC onboard. There is even a camera under the small hut to aid hook alignment, in practice we found we did not need the camera once we got good at running the crane.
The layout is still a work in progress with just some final detailing to finish.
This is a video at an early stage of the build, but you can see the lorries and crane working to give you an idea.

I've collected diecast toys for years, mostly Dinky and French Dinky. When the hobby was in its earlier days and I was at school, I'd send off for lists, sometimes handwritten, from other collectors. I made some pocket money restoring models for other collectors too. Then there was a long gap with rising prices, a house and family and so on, and though I don't but all that many, I still enjoy looking at them and I'm still pretty good at restoring them. My favourite era is the 1950s, with really simple but often well detailed castings. among my favourites there are the racing cars by Crescent - finally found a Vanwall!
Few of mine, couple of 1:18 ones in here too for good measure. Think I'm going to sell all the BTCC models and the 1:43 Senna ones at some point. When I have too much stuff I start getting antsy and go on a selling binge. Usually just results in me buying more scalextric cars though...

There are some from Spark, but I guess most sold out, so you have to wait until someone is selling one.
True Scale don't even show the 1:43 in their current online catalogue, and no web search finds it. Nor does it show up on CK. How did you find them? The silver model picture is from Euromodell but again the model itself isn't listed on their site, even as sold out.It seems weird to me that you can still buy a Coupe, but not a Spider...

After nearly 40 years of collecting Formula 1, I'm at last giving up. It's getting a bit samey, this year's cars hardly look different from last year's, and next year's probably will as well.
I may continue to buy the real historics, those from the pre wings and adverts era, but not many as I've got most of those already.
My interest is now American cars of the 1950s - the first few arrived last week.
As you can see, I'm concentrating on the cheaper end of the market. Well I'm not made of money you know.
