Despite looking pretty much the same as it did in previous pics, a fair few washes built up and the driest of dry brushings sees it finally done:

It can run and play with it's vintage Airfix friends now:

I was pleasantly surprised how well it built with just a bit of flash removal over the usual general part prep needed. A big win was finding the clear light lens that pinged-off the tweezers and in to the distance, twice!
Very tidy.

Memories for me late 80s early 90s I worked summer seasons on Southport beach....the lifeguards had a few DUKWs they used to get across the beach and to the sea (tide retreats a long way off the coast at times here)
I went on a tour of Windsor a few years ago (just checked, they start again in Feb.) Very cool starting on the road, and then finishing the tour on the Thames.

Did that. Good fun - and nobody was shooting at us either.

More progress on the tanker , started painting the chassis , wheels done in my chosen colour ( didn’t fancy blue ) and filling and sanding on the tank.

Next time give me a shout, I can provide authentic "under fire" thrills from the bank!

I'll wear my tin hat next time.

I was on a date that didn't quite work out. Having somebody shooting at us might have livened things up.

Excellent result. The Matchbox military vehicles with the bases are still great kits. Some originals are getting expensive now - I wanted the set with the two French tanks, but I saw one on Friday at a show - they wanted £35+ for it. The Revell re-boxing’s are more reasonable, but don’t have the nostalgia value for me.

Nice progress. The wheels look very well detailed - will you be giving them a dark wash or any weathering?

Well, the cockpit is in, and the fuselage halves closed:

Also wicked some diluted PVA into the small gaps around the bulkhead stiffener. All that area needs painting in camo colour (green) before fitting the canopy:

More progress today , chassis completed , cabin internals done and started on pipe work on the tank . Not sure about any washes and weathering yet , will see how it looks when basically finished.

Nicely finished work GrufGruf!

This is my work sofar, progressing very slowly. Surprisingly the photos reveal much more problem areas than visible under normal light so rectification work will be required. Typically armoured vehicles are lots and lots of individual pieces and stacking tolerances can amplify small imperfections. 1 Headlight got caught by the carpet monster.

Good to see others are still progressing with their Christmas builds. I'm juggling attention to mine with trying to complete a 1:25 AMT/Matchbox Hilux:

I've 'resolved' the snapped B pillars by removing them and gluing the broken halves together, then I'll attach them to the side glass with a drop of PVA.

Without more surgery it doesn't seem like the A pillars are going to take their proper shape, but the windscreen seems to to fit OK so for a quick shelf filler that will do.

if nothing else I'm very happy with the bronze paintwork, I will definitely be using that on a 1970s 1:24/25 build or two.

Aaah, you went for the chrome!

The colour looks great on that, well chosen.

Nearly done the tanker , just a bit of detail painting and the transfers , oh and the windscreen glass , to do now.

Thanks , the gloss black spray on the wheel arches has gone a bit “crinkle” finish but will do for now.
