Christmas Group Build?

Dare I suggest another seasonally focussed companion bulid off? Seems the Spitfire has finally been beaten, time for another?
There are some loose ends carrying over from last year's!
That was a different Spitfire (and it's not quite finished!). Last year's Christmas build is still underway. I removed and re-fitted various combinations of canopies until I ended up with the least worst option (Rob Taurus vacform), and only yesterday fitted the cannon fairings (which I strengthened with plastic rod:There are some loose ends carrying over from last year's!
...then broke one off while sanding the joints. So, like the rest of the model - that worked really well.
Would be nice to get it finished this holiday though; there's something nostalgic about an Airfix Spitfire at Christmas...

I’m determined to get the Hunter down from the shelf of doom and finish it off. That may mean completing a couple of other projects first though. There are some loose ends carrying over from last year's!
Pleased to report that balsa cement still smells the same. I've never built a flying model before now. It was Dad's thing, and I've been wracking my brains to remember his techniques. Fortunately there's a lot of info on YouTube. I'm about to cut the spars to introduce dihedral to the outer wing sections
Enjoying it very much though. Learning a lot. I'm already planning future builds to do better next time. Totally different philosophy to plastic kits, because rather than the subjective "how good does it look" the real test is "will it fly?"

Possibly a controversial aircraft and scheme to be painting in current times but I started this IAI Kfir C2 at the start of the month, the kit is from italeri Its also sold by Revell and I'm using their colour suggestions.
I always did love the schemes on these jets and the Mirage III in general.
I'm going to try and finish this in the next couple of weeks, although using enamels slows things down a bit. Which is no bad thing, it's about having fun and getting away from the screen.

I'm not sure if I will (or at least should) start a new kit this time, but I am going to try and finish off a longstanding build or two.
Mostly interor work and window trims/bodywork detailing required on this one. Also got a Tamiya Toyota Celsior (LS400) to complete, need to summon up the enthusiasm to do some foil work on the chrome trim.
