High-performance 1:10 RC crawler from Cross-RC

I built the EMO AT4V pick-up truck from a kit that I imported from China. Cross-RC has a good reputation for high quality scale-realistic RC vehicles but their products are not as commonly seen as other larger brands. Its main rival would be the Traxxas TRX-4. I wanted something with a high level of off-road performance and a scale-realistic body.

Portal axles for good ground clearance - TICK.
Locking front and rear differentials - TICK.
Multi-link suspension with coil spring oil-filled shocks - TICK.
Bead-lock wheels with soft compound high grip all-terrain tyres - TICK.
High torque crawling motor - TICK.
A selection of brass chassis upgrade parts to lower the centre of gravity - TICK.

£460 from AliExpress. I know RC prices have rocketed recently but is that a significant saving over, say, a Traxxas?

As regardless how well it is made, if I'm buying Chinese I expect it to be significantly cheaper than US made.

Traxxas are manufactured in China as far as I know?... A huge part of the traxxas price is for their marketing... And don't forget the upgrades that add £££...


Hard pushed to find much in the mass RC market that isn't manufactured in China these days...

Cross RC are very well regarded....
I have a hankering for one of these bad boys..

When I bought my AT4V, it was quite a bit cheaper than a TRX-4, plus as it was built from a kit I was able to customise it as I wanted. However, I consider Cross-RC to be a premium Chinese brand that is very similar in quality and performance to a Traxxas product so I wouldn't expect it to be significantly cheaper by the time it arrives in UK, EU or USA. The prices in China though are very attractive!
