As we haven't had a model thread for a while....I have a kit from the late 70's/early 80's, all boxed etc. Are these worth anything? I had a quick look on ebay but nothing quite the same(or I am just crap at searching)

I would have a look round a model swap meet or something, I'm sure you can look them up somewhere, there is often some at airshows and the like.

I wouldn't think it was that valuable. It is the 1/24 Airfix kit of the of the Harrier GR1 which was released in 1974. so it is quite old now. Airfix seem to be re-releasing their very limited 1/24 range so it might reappear soon. Once these models reappear, second hand values of older boxings tend to plummet.

Try the following links if you're interested in old Airfix kits.

I'd recommend the DB James website. He's very knowlegdeable and may give a good price if you're interested in selling. Take a few photos of your kit for e-mailing just to help things along.

First link doesn't work.

And it looks like the Airfixcollector site is no longer active. Given what has happened to Airfix, you might think that there would be more demand for Airfix related collectables than just a few months ago.

Regarding the original query, I would now say that the 1/24 Harrier would be more in demand now than back in April. Obviously, if Airfix are resurrected or their moulds reappear under different labels (a very likely scenario) then my original comment about reboxing would stand.
