Finished my Escort mk2 Stobart rally car.

Need to print off & add a Vodka Kick logo to the blue side, Stobart on the bonnet, front & rear sun strips & number plates.

More pics here

That's also an Otto Ford badge, once I realised its a waterslide decal not a sticker.

Now my attention turns to making my Escort F40, RS2000 & the next Mk2 Escort rally car.

You're not wrong about the 288 GTO, some silly numbers involved there.

Where's the LaFerrari from?

Hello all, having long admired some of your photos of your models I thought it about time I posted some of mine.

I have recently fallen back in love with them. I went through the moving out of the parent’s house phase, and they were too cumbersome to drag from one place to another so they stayed at my parents. I’ve now set roots and went home last weekend to collect some of them. This is a small portion of my collection, but these are some of my favorites, and ones that I am very proud of.

My collection seems reasonably eclectic, they’re all 1/18 scale, but after that they vary, there are a few older racing cars, ex Le Mans victors, a few BMW’s and a reasonably healthy dose of American Muscle. I generally picked models that I like and am not loyal to one brand, but there certainly are makers that I prefer.

Anyway I’ll let the little snippet of the collection do the talking, I hope you like them!

Firstly a pair of AutoArt BMW’s. I can’t really remember where I got them from of what I paid, but I like them a lot.

Continuing the BMW theme a Minichamps 3.5 CSL Sebring 12hrs winner. The quality is somewhat lacking on this one but it certainly makes a statement and looks excellent lit up in the display cabinet.

Then we move onto a Classic Carlectables 66 Ford Mustang Coupe. This really is a lovely model with a fantastic eye for detail, it weighs a bloody ton too! I’m still in my “fast phase” when it comes to my actual car, but when I decide to slow down, this is what I will get. The photos haven’t seemed to do it justice but it really is a fantastic model.

Next, in 2010 I was lucky enough to go to Australia and coincided my trip with a visit to the Bathurst 1000. When I was there I got a Classic Carlectables HRT Commodore raced by Garth Tander.

At the Bathurst in 2010 the HRT ran 2 cars in an anniversary livery, so when I got wind that they were releasing a model of that I was quick to put a pre order in. I was extremely chuffed when this turned up!

I’m not all that sure if Classic Carlectables are all that available over here, but I’ve now got three of their models and they are all absolutely stunning, so if you ever get the chance!

Now starting the Le Mans theme. Firstly the 2003 winning no.7 Bentley by AutoArt. One of my absolute favorites, a really great looking model, but quite difficult to take a good picture of.

Then onto the 1988 Jaguar XJR-9. Perhaps my all time favorite racing cars. I don’t really know why, but I love it. This particular model is by Exoto, I pre ordered it direct from Exoto when I heard they were doing a model of it. So it is the 1st release without the full “Silk Cut” sponsorship paintjob. It is a gorgeous model, but I am slightly gutted that they released one with the full livery not long afterwards.

Now for the crown jewels of my collection, the Exoto 1-2-3 Aficionado set from the 1966 Le Mans. 3 gorgeous GT40s, I can’t really do these justice with words so I will let the pictures do the talking. I got the set when I was much younger and had disposable income, I cannot remember what I paid for them but I can remember having to pay £80 in import tax when it arrived!

So there we go that is some of what I have, the rest are still at my folk’s house still waiting for me to get a bigger place to display unit. I hope you like them, apologies for some of the pictures, the reds didn’t seem to want to play ball today.

Like most kids, I fudged together a few WW2 plane kits, which I then hung from the washing line and blasted to pieces with my air rifle. Many years back I owned an 88 IROC Camaro and when visiting my parents in Switzerland came across an 1/8 scale Monogram kit of the same, in a Geneva supermarket, of all places. This was an 87 hard top (mine had T roof) but was otherwise pretty faithful.

I recently unearthed it, some 14 years after I built it and a few small pieces have been lost to the mists of time and multiple house moves. It is rather dust-damaged, but somehow gives it a more authentic look. I tried to make it as much like my real version of it as possible (down to taking polaroid photo's of the windscreen stickers, tax disc etc).

I painted the body with a regular rattle-can and the finish came out pretty much as crap as the real factory paint job was - an unintentional accuracy. No match for some of the beautiful work on here, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I've got six of their 1/43 V8s and the detail is stunning. I can only imagine what the 1/18s are like.

I dont think we have had any construction vehicles on this thread yet. I have a slight obsession with them, most of which are Norscot models and I do like Caterpillar yellow! Here is my collection so far;

First up, a few Lego models

Then a few small scale CATs

There is the occasional interloper from another brand;

Then I discovered the 1:50 scale Norscot models and started collecting them;
Logger

Underground mining digger and tipper

A Soil Compactor

Excavator

Materials Handler

A low load trailer and tractor unit

The latest addition isn't a Caterpillar but is a rare Norscot model as far as I can tell
Piling Rig

I keep an eye out and have picked all these up as bargains, I just need to sort somewhere now to display them as they are currently stored in cardboard from before I moved house.

It never ceases to amaze me there is a market large enough to warrant the cost in tooling up for some of these models… I have
the German brochure come through after buying a model from them. So far I've resisted the VW LT van model… WTF is that all about?

It took a while to figure that out - it looked from the first picture like you'd started with a badly damaged model (pictured on a kitchen worktop) and then repaired it. Then I realised the first picture was the complete model, just surrounded by foam packing.
