Thanks very much. I was very surprised and happy to have picked up a prize.
I’ve ordered a couple more 1/144 kits to try and hone my skills.

You really do fly through these kist Rob, do you do them one at a time, or have a few on the go at once? And where on earth are you putting them all?

They look fantastic by the way.

I’m half way through another p-51d too.

The 1/144 kits are very simple, so don’t take long at all. The great thing is they don’t take up much space either.

If I’m enjoying a kit I tend to motor through it. For that reason I’ll never be up to the standard Dr_grn, caterham nut etc.. I’m okay with that.

As for what happens to the other models. They sit on the shelf for a while. At some point my daughters will ask for them for their rooms. They end up in the bi shortly after...

Very nice work. After many years of collecting die-cast and resin model cars, seeing the models by some of the experts on this thread has made me think about having a go at a model plane, probably a 1:72, and something I haven't done in many years.

What did you use to paint this model, as the finish looks really good?

I used Tamiyas newish lacquer paints through an airbrush with a Johnson’s Klear top coat.

Easy paints to use.

Ah, okay thanks. I don't have an airbrush so will have to go with brush I guess. I've watched a few YouTube videos which have been helpful.

Decent results can be achieved without an airbrush.

I made loads of 1/144 Hasegawa kits as a kid. It’s quite a good scale for making a wide variety of types of aircraft. Then you could play with them in what would happen if F14s were fighting zeros etc like in that rubbish 80s film ‘the Philadelphia experiment’

I see they now do a lot more commercial aircraft in 1/144

Wrong trashy 80s film there!

You're thinking of "The Final Countdown" (with the recently departed, late great Kirk Douglas)

"Splash the Zeroes!"

I'd already watched about six of Owen's videos over the last few days and yes, he does get great results. I've watched some two or three times in order to get some useful tips.

Thanks.

You ought to watch Flory Models kit review videos, with a bottle of whisky and a shot glass to hand.

Then take a slug every time he says 'right the way through.'

You'll never get to the end.

My daughters nabbed the second egg before I got a chance to add it.

For the record they also got this one too.
