Thank you for the compliment - I’ll try and get some photos posted of other models. I’ve not done much in the last 5 years - work, kids and cycling have kind of got in the way

Just managed to find this on eBay at a reasonable price; Ferrari from the 2001 Italian GP, where as a mark of respect to the victims of 9/11, a black nosecone was fitted, and all sponsor names and logos removed to leave just race numbers and Ferrari badge..

A Panini from the magazine collection; this was one of the three 'specials' only available to subscribers. I already had the other two, the 6-wheel Tyrrell and the Brabham fan car.

I also have a house full of the 'standard' issues; I've never subscribed to the magazine, just bought the odd one that caught my eye. Two years later they're taking over!

I won this on the bay of fleas last week.

Porsche 956. Original car in plain white. Complete with a full set of Rothmans decals.

So the question is this - leave it plain white or add the decals?

This is my 1:72 Tamiya Mosquito. There are a few more bits to stick on yet.

Add the decals, it's nothing without them!

This was one of several aircraft painted like this, until the powers that be told them to stop doing it and go back to the official livery.

Famously, Revell released a kit in the '60s of one of these aircraft, the 'Millie G', with the olive drab fuselage panels replaced by red!

Made for an interesting colour scheme, but there was no evidence that it ever existed.

Time for some trains, an exercise in weathering. No airbrush used, just Humbrol 33 and 62(black and tan) for the underframe and basic grot. Leave for a day then clean up the body and get to work with drybrushing using artist oils, using card as a pallet as this draws out the oil. Both locos are from Heljan, with two more blue ones to do. Sadly the layout isn't mine, it's the OO layout at my local club. I have quite a collection including a bit of steam if readers are interested in seeing more.

Am developing a couple of beginners kits, two Scottish fishing vessels, a 70 foot Fifie and an 80 foot Zulu, I have called them Lady Eleanor and Lady Isabella. Just waiting for the sail set samples to arrive to complete them.

Both are 64th scale and laser cut in pear wood, planked in pear wood and a limewood laser etched and cut deck.

First 1/35th model I ever built. I have a feeling it was 1979 and it was great kit even then.

And now for a bit of steam and a special Bentley
Evening Star on the Pines Express, sort of.

A Collett departs for Highbridge, as a Jinty does some shunting

A modified Jinty, scratch built push pull vacuum pump (must get round doing the correct buffer beam pipes)

As this is a car forum, A special Bentley NHY 581. Railway photographer Ivo Peters owned this car right upto his death, it's still around.

And finally something more in keeping with the Yorkshire surrounding, a Longsight class 40 on the Workington Huddersfield postal(ish)

Revell 1/48 Beaufighter with Eduard Zoom PE set and seatbelts, took a couple of pics before attaching the canopy.
Tried to replicate the insulation on the heating pipe with masking tape, not sure it came out correctly.

Even for a new kit the engineering and instructions are way below Tamiya quality - for instance they have you assembling the upper wing halves to the one piece lower wing before attaching to the fuselage, however they have also put tabs on the fuselage to glue the upper wings to, still trying to work out how they expect everything to fit smile

And for something a bit bigger, Arocs Tipper Truck
Untitled by MBBlat, on Flickr

Knocked the drivers side cab steps off when moving it, will have to reattach
IMG_0776 by MBBlat, on Flickr

Full lights, MFU and motorised tipper bed, need to solder some deans connectors onto the truck before I can do a proper demo though.
