Next bike kit finished. It should be the Police sponsored Ducati 888 Superbike like this:
But I didn't like the design and found a set of Robert Dunlop NW200 decals on eBay which made a much better (and recognisable) model.
The engine looks amazing.
Love it, you’ve done an amazing job!But I didn't like the design and found a set of Robert Dunlop NW200 decals on eBay which made a much better (and recognisable) model.

I’ve recently got back into modelling and I’m doing the Tamiya 916 but have a hankering to do something different. I’ve got an RC30 incoming, and would love to do it in period colours, delete the lights and maybe make a different exhaust
Cheers. I'm loving building the bikes right now.
I'm just about to start a 916 too. I picked up a set of Foggy decals for it, so I will be blanking out the lights, leaving off all the other road bike bits and possibly extending the back part of the belly pan as suggested by the instructions I got with the decals.
The RC30 kit does look nice, but I'm focusing solely on race bikes.
This is the collection so far...
The Kawasaki is awaiting a set of replacement decals as it was an old kit and the original decals just crumbled when I tried to apply them.
After the 916, I have an FZR750 with additional Ian Lougher IOM TT decals, 2 different NSR500s and a ZX-RR waiting to be built

I’ve seen the Ian Lougher TT decals and would be tempted if I could find a sensibly priced OW-01! I'm just about to start a 916 too. The prices of some kits are mad now. I have a Protar 1/9 Manx Norton I found cheap on Facebook I’ll probably do next. Chap on eBay sells wheel kits to lace proper spokes into the hubs, which if successful will make a massive difference.
Then I have the Tamiya Honda six with all the add-ons which should be fun! I hugely overestimated my ability when buying those things so I’m doing cheaper kits like the 916 and RC30 to get back into it.
Back in the 90s when I was a kid I did the 888, Bimota Tesi, OW-01, RC30, Hailwood Rep and loads more. I’d love to do them again but the kits are hard to find!
Ducati 916 with aftermarket Carl Fogarty decals.
Not a true replica, I didn't fancy trying to extend the bottom of the fairing and I didn't have any slick tyres or carbon wrap for the exhausts. The decals were tricky, I'm not sure how they were made but they were really stiff and just cracked when trying to apply, especially over the nose and tail piece.

BTW, what is that green metallic thing next to the CSL in the lowest board?
Cheers
Mike
It's a Mazda RX7 Rocket Bunny by ignition models, sealed resin but the paint job is epic Cheers

Just checked the price, oh dear, I'll better stick to 1:43s and plastic kits...
Seems worth it though

Lots underway on the workbench (actually an old drawing board) at present:
Chevrolet, Toyota and Honda kits by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
The Impala is undergoing a Corvette LT5 engine transplant, main job is to finish the suspension. The little Honda Today kei car and 'Mk1' Celica are both getting different wheels and being lowered. The latter has one of my best paintjobs, shame I then snapped the front valance....
1:24 Humbrol Fiat 131 Abarth kit by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
Rebuild of something I first chucked together when I was about 13 (so quite a long time ago). I realised a set of Japanese Hayashi Street wheels I had were awfully similar to the Campagnalos fitted to some 131s. They'll be painted gold with the bodywork in dark metallc blue, the overall look I'm going for being a fast road car.

Ooo nice! Love the first Celica shape and the Twingo! Wonder which came first...no doubt the Today..
You must have loads of engineless Corvette kits now...
Love 131s! Dad of an Italian girl in my class had a glorious orange Mirafiori, 1982, and a colleague had a black one that ate head gaskets....and rusted..and rusted..
Have the Esci 131 waiting for it's blue and yellow Olio Fiat livery but built the Tamiya 1/20 kit as a lad. Note that's up for rerelease this year.
Came across an Abarth body kitted 131 very neatly slid sideways and trapped between 2 trees one night stumbling back from the pub...a sad end to it but but the most stunning of luck on the part of the lived to tell the tale driver !

Today launched in 1985, Twingo 1992! Oddly I hadn't noticed the similarity. You must have loads of engineless Corvette kits now...

This is the second Corvette transplant I've done, still got one more to go plus an AMT Viper and several '90s Mustangs as donors. It's the best thing for some of them.....
