Toko 1/35 GAZ-AAA, basically a Ford Model-AA with an additional rear axle; MiniArt 3 ton service crane; MiniArt oil and fuel cans. "Commercialised" to recovery / tow truck - just for fun.

Today launched in 1985, Twingo 1992! Oddly I hadn't noticed the similarity.

This is the second Corvette transplant I've done, still got one more to go plus an AMT Viper and several '90s Mustangs as donors. It's the best thing for some of them.....
I'm doing this all wrong! Built the Viper WITHOUT the engine....

Thanks - yes I've been looking for some tow truck decals but can't find any yet.

The rev counter decal is there, just doesn’t show!

Just need the pot of X-7 to turn up then I can paint the rest of the body panels!

Need to detail the fuel cap too, it’s just rested on the tank at the moment smile

Tamiya 1/35 Tiger II - Konigstiger tank (Porsche turret) Optional Zimmerit coating panels available after market from Tamiya. Reasonably easy to apply as they're self-adhesive. Crew figures from Tamiya's 1/35 Wermacht Panzer crew set.

Ditto, great to see the quality and variety. Hopefully they all achieve what we want, for me it's an absorbing distraction from work etc and vaguely turning images in my mind into 3D reality, even if I can't do it at 1:1.

Latest one off the bench:

The LT5 engine swap was very easy. Getting the chassis, interior, bodyshell and glass to fit togther nicely less so......

1:12 Porsche 935.
Really enjoyed this one, the detail is superb. The only annoyance was the hinges on the boot lid caught on a bit of the engine and one snapped.
Really chuffed how painting the inside of the various tanks turned out, the semi opaque plastic makes it look like there are actual fluids in the tanks.

Yes fantastic. Considering the age of the original kit the detail is amazing.

Scale Motorsport keeping mailing me to remind me to buy their super-detail kit for when I finally get to mine, but $700 is a bit steep...

That 935 is brilliant.

I'm going to dip my toe into 1:12 with a motorbike first.

Some of the 1:12th bikes are really fiddly, the look great but there are some awfully tiny pieces.
My 1:12 bike collection

I keep looking at the 1:9 Africa Twin. Think that might be My next one.

This is the reason I’m building 1/12 bikes!

For my 40th i got a 1/9 MFH Montgomery model. We have a full scale Montgomery bike (a single not a glamorous twin!) and I was amazed you could get a model when my mate at work told me.

I came up with a plan that I’d build the 1/12 Honda six then have a go at the Montgomery. I spectacularly overestimated my ability so I’m now building 1/12 bikes (and 1/72 planes for quick wins and practice techniques) until I feel ready for the Monty!

Sweet. That will look mega, but yeah, good idea to get your hand in on other stuff first. Learn to not rush stuff even if it means only putting one or two pieces on every evening .

Yeah, some of the kits are silly money. I really want a Lucky Strike Yamaha, but haven't found one at a decent price.
Spotmodel have a few in stock if you can stomach the postage from the EU
