Happy to report absolutely no damage, just the detachment of 3 mirrors, 1 numberplate, a 911's windscreen and Neil Armstrong! Think the modelling gods were being generous after their messing with the SLCs decals....
Phew!I don't know if you've managed to do anything with the SLC decals I sent you, but the rear axle and springs you kindly provided for my '57 rebuild have been put to good use:

Refresh of a kit I first chucked together back in the mid '80s, brush-painted black Humbrol enamel and all. It'd been in parts box for 30+ years but I managed to assemble enough of the original and parts from other kits to put it back together again, along with that generously donated rear axle. I did a better job of the brightwork this time with bare metal foil and polished the original paintwork, with just the bonnet being repainted and a few bits of touching-up (so easy with brush paint!).
It's not perfect or very detailed, but it's pleasing to see it on display again.

Here it is alongside the '57 that I took in a slightly different direction.
Edit: Linking it back to the Mercedes SLC kit, the headlight lenses I used this time around are from the rally car's spotlights.

This is a short kit from Sarik. It is a very short kit, basically the formers and longerons to build the frame, and then 'refer to photos'.
Base is plywood, the sides are planked with mahogany, and the deck will be mahogany, walnut and spruce.
Lot of sanding, epoxying the inside and drilling the bottom is the next brave move before I start with the decking.
Interior and engine bay will be 3D printed, and hopefully airbrushed by a friend who is good at it..
With a young family, a toylander, and a doer upper with a big garden... It has taken about a year so far, so plenty still to go and the backlog of models is starting to grow.
