Agreed; some of the talent is mind-boggling. But I don't understand why Lego occupies so many posts.
That's always baffled me too. (Lego has it's place BTW, I loved it as a kid.)

Well don’t laugh too much. First model in 35 years and more of a test bed for the King Tiger I have ready to go next. Absolutely loved making it even if I messed up the weathering, even the figure wasn’t too badly done!
A simple way to make it look even better would be to super glue the tracks to the top of the wheels to get a bit of sag.
Thanks Rob - I might even give that a go today! The tracks were a total nightmare and despite melting them together they pulled apart after fitting so I resorted to stapling them together
I made so many mistakes with this one because I assembled it ages ago but only painted it last week, I didn’t even bother sanding or filling the gaps but overall it’s come out really well for my first model since I was a lad and my first ever time using an airbrush. I am kind of practising on the armour as I really want to start making model aircraft but I feel like they will be much more difficult - it is easy to hide all the faults on my tank with weathering powder and oil washes!

You’re exactly where I was a couple of years ago.I made so many mistakes with this one because I assembled it ages ago but only painted it last week, I didn’t even bother sanding or filling the gaps but overall it’s come out really well for my first model since I was a lad and my first ever time using an airbrush. I’ll bet you’ve been watching Andy’s hobby headquarters on YouTube…

!
We all did that back in the day!!
Also, over time, the tracks would attack the plastic wheels and leave little marks all over them. You could avoid it by painting the wheels, but who did that when everything was moulded in the correct colour?
(At least it's all grey now which means you have to paint it!)

Wonderful to hear and probably why your Tiger looks so good! Keep having fun!But looks pretty good to me. Model building is a great creative release. Next one will be even better (wait till you try "link and length" tracks!)
Decided to try something a little different to the Tamiya kits I normally make:
1/100 scale Master Grade Gundam Heavyarms
The last Gunpla kit I built was around 15 years ago, but since I've built a few models I decided to go for a Master Grade kit and spread the build over a couple of weeks.
Generally the kits are designed to look fine without paint, but I wanted to add some basic details. Painting the pilot was probably the smallest thing I've ever had to paint
So far I've built the cockpit and main torso, which opens up. One criticism of the kit I do have is that the hinges for the opening chest are incredibly fragile and almost snapped when I opened it the first time. I've also detailed the barrels of the gatling guns just so that they stand out a bit more from the rest of the panel. I think I'm going to repaint these in a slightly brighter grey/silver so that they pop a bit more. I'm panel lining the kit as I go, which is making the build take much longer but should be worth it in the long run.

I'm enjoying the build process so far even if it is a bit different to what I normally build!

On word of caution. If the plastic is the same as their Star Wars kits do not use enamel panel liner without painting first. The plastic reacts with enamel thinner and becomes very brittle.
Acrylic panel liners/washes should be fine.
Thanks for the heads-up; the kit is a mixture of ABS plastic and polystyrene; the panel liner I'm using says not to use it on ABS so I'm avoiding those frames. All of the other paints I use are acrylic so should be OK Acrylic panel liners/washes should be fine.
Spent a few days on the kit and managed to finish the build process tonight. Still have decals to do and some panel lining on the yellow/red parts, but I'm fairly happy with this for my first Gunpla kit in well over a decade!

The party trick of this kit though is that it has tons of opening panels:
I did have a few complaints with the kit (the belt for the gatling gun is a really badly designed fitting and pops out constantly; I've already superglued that in place). There's also quite a few of the hinged parts that feel incredibly fragile. Still a really interesting build which has unfortunately got me hooked again
