My first model in forever

Tamiya 1/35 Sherman “easy eight” with a Tamiya US tank crew on a random resin base I bought from a show.

I’m waiting for a couple of additional bits to be delivered, but for now it’s done. (The white dust has subsequently been brushed away)

Pretty pleased with it overall..

That’s really nice Rob, beautifully subtle weathering, very restrained. Excellent figure painting too.

Can't but think of Kelly's Heroes. Always with the negative waves Moriarty. biggrin

And, yes. I know it's not a Tiger.

Thanks for the comments guys.

It’s a nice feeling to finish something.

Time to get a few more done.

And quite right too. Your figures really do set a scene...I especially like the cheeky chap knicking the hubcaps

I finally got around to finishing this off last night.

The slant-nose 911 is an interesting curiosity.

Yours looks great Rob, is that a Takom kit? Mine is the Tamiya one with added Zimmerit just prior to adding rotbraun for a 2 camo build. I’m a beginner and it will look mediocre at best but I’m having fun! Look forward to seeing more pics of your build.

Yes. Mine is the Takom kit.

Lovely detail, but a bit of a tricky build.

I’ll post some pictures as I go. I still class myself as a beginner too.

The painting and weathering on that is fantastic Rob beer

Perched on top of a book cupboard is a 1/32nd Airfix Maserati Indy kit which has been there since Christmas, it's coming down tomorrow to get started on. I've not done any modelling in years so I'm looking forward to it wink

Thanks. I am pretty pleased after almost a year off.

Please share how you get on with the Indy. Hopefully it will be a decent kit.

Just to lower the average a bit, I found these recently while tidying up

All made by "Siku", and bought on a school trip to Germany years ago. Turns out the BMW and Porsche are 1:55 scale, and the Lamborgini is 1:60.

I see your Siku Lambo and raise you a Politoys!

A birthday present in 1968, so I've probably had it longer than any other model in my collection.

Absolutely! Though "unskilled" may be accurate it's a bit harsh...how about "on the path to mastering skills"?

Wow! The kids larking on the barrel have really changed the story of the piece! The pose of the scamp swinging by the muzzle puts me in mind of Christopher Robin..

And....lovely flatnose 911. Colour choice suits, looks sharply done. The simple but well moulded Tamiya?

And...as I recall the Airfix Indy is definitely one of the better of their 32nd range. Enjoy it!

And...as an ardent Matchbox fan back in the day my few Sikus were treasured. More expensive but better engineered, nicer wheels, just a bit classier. I loved my Granada estate emergency response car. Had tiny road cones in the back. Loved it almost as much as the so-long anticipated Matchbox mk4 Cortina.

And....Polytoys, Mebetoys, Pilen, etc all had a wonderful European design and feel to them compared to Corgi, Dinky, Spot-on etc. I always thought they were quite exotic in the company of our home grown contemporaries...I've just sold my Monteverdi Hai....tax bill!

As you were! All posts appreciated, keep them coming please!
