Lovely looking hot rod Chris! I found the proto build on modelshipworld lluminating and answering more questions than I thought I had! Will be following the masting and rigging to completion. Living the dream you two!
Cheers! Although a hot rod, it did manage to get captured by the British, and spent most of its career in Royal Navy service! While my friend completes Grecian for me, I have ben working on a Royal Navy cutter called 'Trial' (1790), named so because it was the first to try 'drop keels', which turned out to be quite successful.
Here's where I am up to, just awaiting the photo etched parts I did to be produced, so I can carry on...

Didn’t know where to put this - for those over a certain age who remember old-time Christmas afternoons in front of the tv…

We never could find it…
Had to clear out my old bedroom at the parents this weekend for some upcoming work, and came across a storage box I hadn't opened since moving there in 2010.
I was overjoyed to find this inside it, which I had totally forgotten about and assumed lost.
It's very likely the first diecast I ever had, bought at Orlando's wonderful (sadly now defunct) Race Rock restaurant. At the time it was just a cool looking car to put on the shelf with some other ars that were too nice to play with, but now I appreciate how rare it must be 25 years on
It's never left the box... Until now
Box safely stored with those of the rest of my current collection, it's time for it to take a spot on the "fast and loud" shelf of my display cabinet alongside some American brethren

Ukrainian Mig-29 “Ghost of Kyiv” in 1/72. My first completed jet as the Hunter is still on the shelf of doom, and first 1/72 since childhood. Not the best fitting kit, and the instructions are a bit vague in places.
The decals for the digital cammo were apparently designed assuming that the model was flat, so didn’t quite fit.
The main undercarriage doors had no positive locating pins, so fell off at the slightest chance, hence several have been eaten by the carpet monster. I’ve also misplaced one of the missiles.

A simple, pretty much out of the box Fujimi build just completed for a bit of fun/motivation, without getting too worried about detailing or super-shiny paintwork:

Halfords Ford Java Blue paintwork with their clearcoat, wheels swapped for an equally wide set from another Fujimi kit, front spoiler reduced in depth.
It's pretty basic, with some concessions to detail due to having the ability to fit a motor and lights, but was still an enjoyable build that looks the part in my cabinet. Tamiya do the standard versions (of which I have several), or there's the recent Hasegawa release if I want something more accurate.
