I’d like a Nitro Stadium Truck, and have been looking at a HPi Firestorm and HPi MT-2. The obvious difference is one is 2wd the other is 4wd. It’s only for messing about on the street and on the park so I don’t think the 4wd is that important, I’d rather have the extra speed of a 2wd due to less transmission drag. Which would you guys recommend and are there any other cars that you’d recommend instead? I like HPi stuff as it’s always seemed will made but I’ll try others. My budget is around £200.

This will be my 1st Nitro car, though I’ve had lots of electric cars in the past, from very quick touring cars to buggys.

thanks

Either of those are good reliable well supported trucks.
Transmission drag isnt an issue with nitros.
Personally I prefer 4WD as the handling will be better and doing donuts isnt my idea of fun in a 2WD.
Also, dont assume the 2WD will be faster than the 4WD as it depends on gearing and type of engine. Also, offroad ultimate speed is not an issue unless you are racing.

I've got 5 nitros and guarantee you once you get over the learning curve of starting/tuning an engine, the sound is very addictive, much more exciting than the whine of electric lol

Thanks mate

Reading the spec it looks like they both have the same engine, so I'd just presumed the 2wd would be quicker?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for where to purchase one from? I only live about ten mins drive from the importer but don't think you can buy direct from them.

To be fair you will get the best price online, and definitely shop around.
Who is the importer you say you are near?
I must admit though I am a bit like you and do like to pay cash nad take my toy home there and then like a little kid lol

Mirage RC Enterprises are the importer, based in Swadlincote, Derbys.

I'd like to buy it local if poss so I can get the support from the shop as/when I break or upgrade it.

Thinking of going for the 2wd one (50 quid cheaper...).

Oh, my o/h has said she'll buy it me for crimbo, result!
