Just bought a second hand one of these. I know nothing at all about Nitro RC cars.
Chassis and Nitro:

Bodies:
Any suggestions on how to get up to speed (knowledge) with these? Any good advice or tips?
I have been told to change the fuel tank and fuel lines straight away?
Chasis is quite dirty, how should these be cleaned?

Seriously? The best thing you can do is strip down every nut, bolt and screw and then clean,lubricate and replace worn parts. It will run soo much better and you will learn more about how it works than you ever could on hear from "helpful" posts.
Buy all your parts online as it is soo much cheaper than a shop. Things to probably replace include fuel line,glow plug (get a few), Bearings (check for grittyness)and maybe clutch shoes (get some aluminium ones).
Once everything is clean you will have a much easier job to fix, adjust and clean things.
Good luck, post up some pics when it is all shiny again lol
Edit: the only other thing I would upgade once it is working is the shocks. They will improve the ride and handling massively over the stock car.

Nothing wrong with the site as an overview, but he will gain most from breaking down his own car and rebuilding it.
However, it does depend how well you want your car to run. If you just want to get it running and bash the crap out of it, you probably dont need to fix, clean or upgrade anything. but if you want a nicely tuned piece of machinery that you can honestly say you built and tuned to its best ability then a strip down is a must.
