Scalextric Voltages.

I have some old transformers from the 1980's which are 12V, and some from the 90's which are 16V.

Do the cars run quicker with more voltage???

The 16V ones will be quicker.

When we were younger we would connect 2 or 3 power packs in series to get higher voltage and the cars would go much faster.
Be carefull you dont burn out your controlers doing this as the rheostats inside them are not designed for high voltages.

Yes they will run quicker, but as Holst says, you run the risk of burning out the controllers or possibly the motor in the cars.
