You mentioned your 'little lad' playing with this - how old is he ?
Mine turns 7 next month - would a lunchbox be a good way to start the r/c fun ?
cheers
My little lad has just turned three. He adores it to the extent it gets taken everywhere with him.You mentioned your 'little lad' playing with this - how old is he ?

At 7 he should have no probs- start in a large area so he can't hit anything? Spares are easy to get hold of, and they are fairly robust anyway- large tyres soak up kerbings and the like.
You will never regret having the lunchbox, they are fantastic

Yep, perfect in my opinion. Some start with a smaller buggy, but if there's no gravel or dirt to run on near you, you need the larger clearance of the LunchBox tyres to run on grass.
They're very robust, and if you start on the stock motor, you can upgrade it as he gets older. Mine currently runs a brushless system with which it can do standing backflips, and top speed is around 40mph.
Only thing I've ever broken on it is the body clips.

My youngest started at 7 years racing at the local club - he's since gone on to win a National Series outright, race at National Champs and represented Team GB at the Euro champs. You mentioned your 'little lad' playing with this - how old is he ?

FWIW I would start him and yourself at a club soon after starting. I always compare a R/c model to a football. Give a kid a football and tell him to go and play on his own and 10 minutes later he's lost interest. Give the same kid a football and 9 other kids and they'll play for hours.
