Evening all,

I've been hunting for decent Ford scale models, although every resource I seem to find seems to sell low quality rather than high.

I'm after accurate models of the following:

Ford Seirra RS500 Cosworth
Ford Escort RS Turbo
Ford GT
Ford GT40
Ford Escort Xr3i (mk3)
Ford Escort Mexico
New Ford Focus RS
Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Ford Escort RS1600i
Ford Capri Zakspeed
Ford Capri RS2600/3100

The preferable scale I am after is 1:18.

How much would accurate models mentioned cost?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Charlie

It really depends on how detailed you want, road or race/rally livery and how much you cling to 1/18 scale.

I have had a flick through some catalogues from last year and the types of car you are after are retail between £20 and £50 for normal sized production runs, but obviously in catalogues you cannot guage quality.

What I do know is that sporty fords, especially in road spec are collected by more people than some other marques. My personal preference would be to try and collect those models in 1/43 scale but I have never really liked 1/18 scale models in any form.

The new Focus RS is available from Minichamps at the moment. We're selling them at work, and they're on ebay at the mo, along with the ST. RS is green, ST is ASBO orange.

XR3i is around too I believe. Minichamps again, but I think it's a continental spec, so different wheels and no spot lamps etc.

Capri RS2600 I have, but it's a cheapy model off ebay. Carama I think. Green one, black bonnet.

Sapphire Cossie is available by Vanguards, so nice and cheap. RS500 I think (don't quote me) is available too, possibly Minichamps.

Didn't read your post properly though....these are all 1/43! Minichamps do a Sierra RS500 (I think!) in 1/18, and there are some black XR3's on ebay in 1/18 which look pretty good.

Back to 1/43, Minichamps also do the Ford GT. Forgot to mention that.
