Hi all

ive just bought myself a 1/6 scale petrol rc car (finally). I have friends and family in cape town in south africa and I would like to send the car over there so I can spend some time with my family and there boys at the local parks. Only problem is getting the item to south africa.

the box is fairly big, and weights about 15kgs. Im worried that if I sent the item to south africa that the local customs people will charge me more than the item is worth. I have a south african postal address so I would like to send it to my familys front door and not have to pick it up from a business. ive considered the wonderful postal system we have over here but can you imagine the cost.

has anyone done this before
who did you use
are there custom charges involved
what if I say the item is second hand

as you can see I really need your help or advice
thanks
god bless
w

Depending on who you send it with then you can declare a nominal value (£10) and have the insurance value for the full amount seperate so it got damaged you could still claim for its worth. I know you can do it that way with UPS but others i am not sure.

Can you mark it as a gift?
