Hello,

Will happily hold my hand up and say that I am one of those who play and enjoy all things Warhammer.

First thing I would recommend is find a good friendly local model shop, whilst Games Workshop is good for the actual product they are on the more expensive side of things.

Secondly see if there is a gaming club in your area - go to http://www.gcnm.org.uk/ to find your nearest Gaming Club Network member club, not all clubs are members of the GCN however I would recommend that you go for one that is. This is primarily because GCN member clubs are all required to meet the appropriate CRB checks etc before admittance to the GCN.

Do NOT be worried if they start jabbering on about Daemons and Vapires etc... Warhammer includes a broad spectrum of backgrounds and storylines - some of which are not that nice and fluffy.

You will find that the average gamer will often become an avid reader and normally a dab hand a mental arithmatics- even if only to prove how much you kicked the other guys butt by!!!

As mentioned previously Warseer is a good source of knowledge- although some is aimed at the more experienced gamer. I am regular visitor to www.warhammer.org.uk and www.belloflostsouls.net

As for a games table - 6x4 is the best size, and harsh as it seems do not invest in the high quality scenery etc to begin with, after the better part of 15 years I still destroy at least one building every 2 or 3 months!!!

My "everyday" table is 2 pieces of 3ft x 2ft MDF painted green, then some pva dabbed strategically on it, the green flock sprinkled on to create grass. Hills and buildings are then placed to meet the need of the game.
Cheers - I'll have a peruse of those websites.

I took them into the Games Workshop again last night and into another local similar shop at the weekend. Am planning to take them back into the Games Workshop to do their beginners thingy that they run on a Saturday ...... but only if they tidy their bedroom before then ! judge

Thanks again chaps thumbup
