Nitrotek. ShengQi 1/5th Scale Petrol RC Monster Trucks
Discussion
hi guys
im looking for advice
im really at 2 minds at the moment
Ive mentioned on this forum before that I would love a petrol Rc car, I had 2 nitro cars, got a bit bored with them, so ive sold them and got some money together to afford a petrol rc car
Nitrotek have the 1/5 scale hummer petrol car, I really like the look of this model, but ive had really mixed reviews regarding this car, looked on the internet and the reviews are good and bad, some saying its a gem some saying what a pile of S..T, but I get the impression that the negative reviews come from first timers who crashed within the first 10 min. So im appealing to anyone on this forum who possibly has a nitrotek petrol car and what experiences you have had or any advice.
www.howesmodels.co.uk have a petrol rc car (BIG FOOT 1/5th Scale 2WD OFF-ROAD MONSTER TRUCK) for £299, WOW what a bargain looks good and more or less the same price as a 1/8 scale nitro car. so if anyone here has one of these please tell me how you have found it.
I know there are going to be people on here who will say, go for the Marders, FGs, Bajas, carsons, etc, sorry but I dont have the £600-£1000 pounds to afford one of these and ive heard a rumour that alot of these models spare parts are compatible on the cheaper cars.
well im looking forward to your replys, reviews, advice, or even places where they sell these items cheaper, ive gone through nitrotek and howes models. let me know if you know of cheaper places to get these cars
cheers guys

Having seen both and had a FG All Alloy beetle there FGS really are b*llocks lol
But if your just getting into petrol the the Sheng would be the way to go but if i was you i would upgrade the front and rear struts and shocks with FG the chassis are 99% identical!
So get on ebay and buy some 2nd had used alloy upgrades! Front and rear shock supports and struts +shocks is where i would start and go from there!
You can end up with quality truck for very little money!
Dont go for a 1/8 scale! go 1/5th then you can rob FG / Marder parts!

hi there
thanks for the intresting info, and help
I had a 1/10 scale nitro ssk v2 thunder tiger truck before, and a few 1/8 scale cars. Got bored with them and it would be fun to try the petrol cars available
Yip I heard that the expensive models are compatitble with the Shenqi, 1/5 scale
I will definately get the hop ups like you have suggested,
thanks again for all your help
