It's my son's birthday and as a good dad I'm getting him one of the essential toys all boys should have. Not knowing a great deal I was just going to buy him a Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin but after spending a little time reading and popped in to Modelsport in Otley they suggest my money would be better spent else where with the two below there suggestions.

Both our a little over my original budget was hoping for £150 for every thing you need. The combo price is £188 for the Lossi and £189 for the Traxxas.
Is the additional £30 worth spending over a Tamiya. If so which would be the better purchase Lossi or Traxxas?
I don't see him getting into racing just general bashing around outside in the park etc.
Cheers

The chap in the model shop said that the quality of these Lunch box / pumpkin things are no where near as good as the Losi or Traxxs. Also said that my son would be running after it all the time to turn back on it's wheels. Hence why I had ruled it out.
Modelsport where I went seem to be pretty reputable company.

Its where i bought my Lunchbox from!!!
Mine doesnt fall over often at all, and I prefer the quality of tamiys kits- but guess its a personal thing.
The main reason for the Lunchbox suggestion is that it will drive over most things easily, including grass- my lad is approaching 4 and needs a big area to keep under some sort of control.
I guess the other thing for me is nostaglia- Had tamiyas growing up, so they hold a soft spot for me
