So prob a daft question

My wife bought me A digital Scalextric track with 2 cars and a good size track.

I would like to get another 2 cars and controllers.
So where is te best place to look at getting these? I have looked on Ebay

Another question is as this is my first Scalextric and being Digital, will cany cars work on my track or do I need to look at digital cars?

Same question with the track

You can use any track because you have the digital conversion anyway. Cars that are not digital can be converted easily with a chip, the Scalextric shop sells these as I suspect other places do.
I join the club each year they have a car I want and when you are a member some model shops give you discount. TK Maxx also sometimes do cheap cars too so worth looking.
I have never used e-bay so no idea but suspect there are bargains to be had.

Have fun!

To use your old track, you need the adapters to convert the old track to the "sport" track using converter C8222: http://is.gd/5HIyF

The chip to convert cars comes in two sizes, one for normal cars and one for single seaters, they are about £12 on eBay. There are different versions depending upon whether the cars are "digital ready" (i.e. they have a panel to remove underneath where the chip simply slots in) or not, in which case you need to do a little soldering. http://is.gd/5HIC0

I've bought loads from Jadlem Racing Models on eBay, very happy with the service: http://is.gd/5HIFP

You can pick up big bundles of track for pennies if you keep an eye on eBay.

Suppose it depends how old the OP's old track is. If it's the new old push together track he should be ok. If it is the old old track - i.e. pre 90's I think then the converter is needed.

Actually reading the post again, he is asking do any cars work on digital track - I don't know the answer to that.

The simple answer is that you need to run cars with a digital chip on a digital circuit.

You can run chipped cars on a non-digital circuit, but not the other way round.

IIRC the new 6-car Digital Powerbase will allow Analog cars to be run, but I would assume you would need to remove the lane changers etc.

OK, for example: http://is.gd/5HOky

The car is "digital ready" which means you can simply slot in one of these: http://is.gd/5HOoc

However this seller will fit it for you before shipping the car, and I think this works out a little cheaper.

There are many good dealers on the internet, some of whom sell on Ebay too. They are happy to chat to you about your options. I've used Jadlam, Scale Models, Pendle Slot Racing and Slot City amongst others. Plus you may well have a model shop near you who can help sell you the right things.

Broadly, you will need a car fitted with a Scalextric digital chip to work on the Scalextric digital system. Most new Scalextric cars are now digital-ready (you need to buy and fit the chip) while many already have the chip fitted. On Ebay listings look for digital or analogue in the description. If in doubt ask the seller!

All the best, Rob

What you really need is SSDC so that you can plug your track in to a laptop, which then takes care of lap counting and times, as well as monitoring fuel loads of individual cars, so that as the fuel is used up and the car gets lighter, it goes faster. It also monitors when you pit to refuel, because if you run out of fuel your car will stop. Adds another dimension to the racing.

And good they are too, we buy plenty of Playmobil gear from them as kids adore it, great service.
