Basically all i want is something to bash around the field and down the road.

I used to have several electric and nitro cars 5-8 years ago. I really like the look of the Revo and T-maxx as they dont look so "Monster Trucky" and both seem to be slightly quicker than the savage.

Out of the Traxxas and the HPI, which one has the most parts available in the uk as id like to improve on the build/performance on which ever one i get

Thanks

Both of those have more optional extras than you can count. The Savage and T-Maxx are getting a bit long in the tooth these days.
For bashing on rough ground though you are better off with the Revo type shape as it is a bit lower and better handling.
However the Revo is quite expensive. The type of truck you want to look for is a Truggy, which is a cross between a truck and buggy. A reasonably priced truggy would be something like a Hyper ST. Have a look and you will see what I mean.
As long as you buy online, parts are not a problem. Just dont expect your local hobby shop to stock many parts, all he will do is order through the internet like you and add his profit on top when he charges you.

The main downside of the Savage (and the reason I wouldnt recommend one now) is that they are a nightmare to work on because of the two side structures of the body.
A truggy is alot more accessible because everything is on a flat body chassis.

Il check out the Hyper ST.
It looks very much like the Revo, maybe even a bit lower than the Revo.

How much for the Savage out of curiosity?

Even the Hyper ST is getting old hat now! Better off going to the likes of Hong Nor and maybe Caster and look at their RTR Truggy's and at the top of the tree the Losi's are a good buy.

I agree a truggy is a better bet than a Savage or other Monster truck types.

All depends on your budget really.

I run a Savage and find it quite easy to work on... excellent truck, tough as old boots... mind you i've not had a truggy...
