Wembley Conference Centre Model show ( a few years ago)
Discussion
I remember going to this some years ago (maybe even before the millenium) does anyone remember it, and is / was there a direct replacement? I have been to the Ali Pali show, but remember this being so much better....
I seem to recall a stunning model of concorde undergoing maintenance, and completely covered in (I assume scratch built) scaffolding...

Those Wembley shows you remember were indeed a previous incarnation of the Model Engineer Exhibition, which re-located to ally pally via Olympia, and is still running every January. I exhibited in the junior competition classes when it was at the Wembley Conference Centre and suspect I was a senior at Olympia which makes the switch very much pre `00, more like pre `90?! Hopefully someone here has a difinitive time-line? I`d love a memory jog!
I have very fond memories (and, ahem, a couple of medals) from those events; I was beside myself with excitement leading up to the public days and was inspired and awed at the incredible standards being displayed across the breadth of model making - proper engineering, scale modelling, dioramas, RC..a proper full day out for a wide-eyed lad! Those events must have played a part in my continuing to build after all this time. Happy days!
