Where to sell a large Dinky collection??!?
Discussion
Hi folks,
Not quite sure where to put this, so mods please feel free to move it.
I have inhertied a rather large Dinky collection, with many rare models in their original boxes, as well as many models needing restoration without their boxes.
Can anyone let me know the best place to get it valued & sell it?
Cheers
Alex

Out of interest is there any value in older cars that are boxless, and have been erm, played with?
I've got a collection of circa 200 cars - some are mine from my childhood, - early 80's but alot are what I inherited from my dad - so early 60's stuff.
None are in mint condition, and none have their boxes.
Cheers

I would do a google search of specialist auctioneers, there are several which focus on such stuff. Perhaps if there is anyone fairly local, may be an idea to go over and show them the wares.
Its the sort of subject where you may well have a crock of crap, or one or two gems which get collectors in a real tizzy!

Early Dinky stuff can fetch a hell of a premium depending on what model it is. Some are extremely rare. The same can be said of some Corgi's as well.
eBay is very good for judging prices, as is Vectis auction website. There's always someone after a particular model to complete their collection, and you just may have it.
