Before he died my dad was into N gauge trains and had built up quite a collection of trains, track, carriages etc. In the couple of years since he died we've never quite managed to sort out how/where to sell them as my mum isn't interested in keep them (funny that....)

Anyway: anyone got any suggestions on options on selling them? such as where we might find a dealer/trader that may be interested in buying them or if someone is interested in themselves? Not interested in suggestions of using fleabay as mum doesn't want to get involved in that.

The collection is mainly Graham Farrish although there are others.

I was amazed at how much some of my old N gauge stuff went for on fleabay a couple of years ago. One loco in particular and a few Pullman coaches created a bit of a bidding war and they went for more than I cold have bought them new elsewhere. Bizarre!

I've always fancied an N gauge set... no idea where I'd put it but there is something about a proper setup that I'd love. Maybe I could work one around my 'man den'.

No idea how much it would cost though

It really depends on if it works well. Obviously, boxed items do sell for a higher price. If you want to get the best price then there is no other option than to sell on ebay. If you want to sell them quickley without any hastle then take them to a local railway specialist. I know that the railway shop i use for all of my bits and bobs take second hand locos and carriages at a reasonable price. I have a large (ish) N guage set up too, although mine is all continental, running Flieschmann. Graham Farash is very popular in the UK as it is typically classic british railway, although because it is so popular, there is a lot of it around in the second hand market. As previously mentioned, you might want to try the small ads in some of the railway magazines. Or you could go along to a railway model exhibition and try selling it there, as you would be able to show the locos working.
Best of luck.
