As above this is really going to be one of those needle in a haystack searches.

I would love to track down one of the very few Peugeot 505 V6 saloon's left in existence. My dad had a beautiful dark grey example for many years but according to DVLA it's been dead a long time. Data also shows there are currently only three examples left on the road hence why this is going to be so tricky if not impossible!!

Its more sentimental than anything but I really loved that car and would like to get one of the few left to restore. I know of a GTi Saloon thats for sale which I could be tempted with but part of me only wants the V6!! The GTi will need some work (cosmetic mainly) but would rather spend the money doing up a V6!!

Did anyone else on here own one?? Has anyone seen one in the last few years?? If anyone spots a V6 can you give me a shout

You could always find a GTI, and if you're wanting to spend time restoring the car, you could possibly just buy a suitable vintage V6 and transplant?

Its not that easy unfortunately, all the trim levels etc are vastly different, V6 has full leather for example. If I bought the GTi I would want to keep it in original spec and its fitted with a fairly low mileage engine. There are only 7 GTi saloons left and would again want to keep it original.

My Mum had the seven-seater estate GTI for years until my brother wrote it off. Apart form memories of family holidays in France, my main memories from driving it are how scarily dim the headlights were and having to be towed out by a Land Rover after parking up on Shipley Glen to have my way with a girl on the folded seats and getting stuck in mud. biggrin

I have a pristine 505 XD3T in my garage, left from my father, although without the engine. Tweed seats, GTi red. Loved it as a child. I'm aiming to put a GM V8 in it this winter.

My dad had a 505 Estate with velour seats which I still maintain are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Wasn't the V6 model but was a 2.0 GLX and had 8 seats.

He had a real soft spot for that car and I still remember him taking me, my brother and two sisters out in the old bus in the snow to show us how to make it drift around a roundabout.

A woman at work ended it buying it for her husband. They loved it so much that when they moved to spain they took it with them! Apparently it's still going strong. thumbup

This is my dad's old V6, lovely old thing it was. He did have a 505 GTi Estate as well after this, I distinctly remember a lot of sideways movement because of the very tall and soft tyre sidewalls!!

Thanks for the link, that ones been up for sale for the last month or so on the bay. The price was dropped recently and I see someone has put in a bid now.

It doesn't look too bad (apart from sunroof) but the diesel doesn't do it for me so to speak. I'm really only after a V6 or GTi should one appear. I keep an eye on the bay every day just in case thumbup

Probably of no interest but they also do a 406 V6 though possibly auto only.

The 505 was a good-looking car.
