Does this make changing the rear pads a dealer only job or. Or I just change them as normal?

If so and thy are hey wind in type does anybody know if they are both clockwise to wind in at the back.

Cheers

Easy enough to do yourself.

If I remember correctly, they are wound back in clockwise. Think the GP's got the standard VTS Coupe brake setup, least my old 2.0 HDI GP had the same as my VTS set up.

Thanks

What about the electric automatic handbrake I'm assuming it can be disengaged when the engine is off although I have not tried it yet. Googling about some people say you need a diagnostic tool to reset it?

It all depends on year of car.

I would check C4Owners.org out. I'm a member there myself (actually an admin).

However, full guides are available over there. As well as various threads on people who have done it before. Be able to get a better idea of what has to be done. I never needed to do the Grand Picasso ones myself, didn't keep it long enough. Seems they also got rid of the ability to manually turn off the handbrake on later cars after a quick search through the forum. So may have to check your manual to see how to turn it off. It has to be doable for tow and purposes though.

Autodata suggests disconnecting the battery, however i normally do electric handbrakes with the engine running.

If you decide to disconnect the battery remember to wind down the o/s window first so you can follow the "wake up" procedure.

You don't need too run the engine Just turn the ignition on hold the foot brake pedal down pull the handbrake switch the handbrake will release and bleep at you ! Turn ignition off now the handbrake will remain off until you start the engine simple ! I would not advise you too run the engine I can't believe a specialist told you too do that !!
Before you restart the car just pump the foot pedal too adjust the pads against the discs

Thanks kevin good time to revive the thread. thanks ill try that

I took a quick look at it today funnily enough.mrs has been working so not had opportunity before

they is an extra sort of attachment on the caliper that ive never seen before.

At the top there is a 13mm bolt as normal goes through the carrier at the bottom where there is normally another 13mm bolt there is some kind of block held together with torx type screws. wierd.

Im guessing I can loosen the top bolt and rotate the top part of th caliper down out of the way. I normally take out both bolts out. the bottom bolt head is completly covered by the contraption which appears to be there for no good reason at all.

wonder if its something to do with the air suspension.

That attachment on the caliper you talk about has a plastic cover in the centre which you pull off too reveal a torx head bolt undo that and then the nut easy job mate you will need too undo both bolts too remove the caliper ! Please note the O/S/F CALIPER YOU TURN THE PISTON ANTI-CLOCKWISE TOO RETURN THE PISTON BACK !!!

Hi all
I have a citeron c4 Picasso, 2016
Automatic hand break
I’m trying to change my rear pads

I’ve got down to the point where I have used a re wind tool, N/S/R - however the rewind tool just isn’t working. I can’t get the piston pushed back, it does a little then stops!

Any ideas, - am I missing something? Never been so complicated before with other vehicles !?
Thank you
