I was going to buy one of these back in 2003 when they first came out, having owned several Pug GTI's before (a couple of 306 GTI-6's and a 309 GTI) I was really looking forward to replacing my Subaru, then I drove it....Gears are too long, pedals were right over to the right, it needed a 6th gear, but apart from that it was ok, not a patch on a 306 GTI for all out ability though the engine was very nice, Peugeot ruined what could and should have been a really good and competetive GTI, so it was 10 years before I bought another new Peugeot which was a shame, on the plus side I ended up selling my Subaru Turbo PPP and bought an STI Spec C instead
I do keep looking at the 180 but I fear I will be just as disappointed now as I was then, will stick with my RCZ R and await my new 3008 SUV's arrival

Mine is not stock by any means BUT...it compares very well to a 182. It is faster than the stock 182 I had and just a little slower than the highly modded one I had. Driving position is much better, ride is stiffer. Pedals are a little strange, not the location, but I keep hitting my toes on the lower part of the dash structure. Gear shift kinda flops around. Does need a 6th gear (but so does the 182) Rations seem OK, but again, mine is cammed so it makes a better use of the powerband.Gears are too long, pedals were right over to the right, it needed a 6th gear, but apart from that it was ok, not a patch on a 306 GTI for all out ability though the engine was very nice, Peugeot ruined what could and should have been a really good and competetive GTI, so it was 10 years before I bought another new Peugeot which was a shame, on the plus side I ended up selling my Subaru Turbo PPP and bought an STI Spec C instead

The 205 is running a Honda Integra DC5 Engine and box with a RBC intake and bigger throttle body along with a DTA S60 pro ecu and digidash. I tried it first with an MI16 engine. But couldn't get the reliable power like this unit can give all day long at full chat!! The exhaust is running down the centre of the car where the gear linkage would have gone. The DC5 gearbox is cables. So run straight through the bulkhead.
