Just got myself a new (to me) Frenchy!

After owning a 172 Cup, a FF 182 with cup packs, two 182 Trophys and a FF 200 with cup packs i've recently picked up my first phase 1 172 - Got to say it's my second favourite of the breed so far (After the 182 Trophys) ... The cable throttle is really responsive and the car manages to feel both light on it's feet when pushing on and refined when it needs to...

It's got 135k miles on it but feels like a quarter of that, and i'm informed only 99 ever came to the UK in this colour (Iceberg silver - It's just a slightly blue silver) ... So far, i'm smitten ...

Picked up this one as a very cheap little project car, have so far had the timing belt changed and I did the coil pack and plugs the other day.

Aside from that, got the rear parking sensors working again, only thing not working at present are the headlamp washers.

Had one of those in about 2002 when it was 6 months old with 15k on it. It was my first expensive car at around £11k and blew my mind. It was awesome. Miss it.

Well bought this last week, but only picked it up today after getting belts etc done at a specialist - was looking for something to strip and track but came across this totally original 172 Cup with only 41,000 miles on it, had a bit of a MOT from hell a few years back but all done since have been ok and sailed hrough one last week; had been in store for the past 3 years... a clean bill of health from the local expert and I'm now loath to change it as it's totally unmolested .... bags of fun already.... now to work out how to get it up the right way biggrin

Picked my first frenchie up last month and what a car, always loved most Renault hot hatches (172, Williams, r5 gt ect ) and the Megane was no different. The dream is opening my garage at the weekend to a Nimbus Grey R26.R however price obv an issue I thought the liquid yellow R26 next best choice.

Fairly low miles at 70k and in great condition I'm mainly going to just try maintain and enjoy, here is a list of the modifications it has at the moment:

cooksport springs
ktec spacers ( gives it that little more presence )
Yokohama Advan AD08R all round
Forge resirc valve,
Forge large intercooler
Ktec turbo downpipe and Sports cat
Piper Exhaust
ITG Filter
Helix Clutch
Siemens 630cc Injectors
RS tuning Remap ( 280bhp 300lbft)

All that combined with the brembos and LSD makes a very nice weekend toy

Here's mine. Picked it up in August. 18 months old and on 13000 miles. Put nearly 2000 on it since then. Brilliant handling and more than enough pace. I don't even mind the touchscreen.

Picked this up in July as a safe-to-park-anywhere car to replace my 2014 S4 which i surrendered early.

It's effectively a free car as it was less to buy than another years payments on the Audi.

It's mostly standard, but has a few mods.

It also feels like home as I have R26 seats in my ProEvo.

So my Dad bought this a few weekends ago, its one of very very few cars I've seen him get excited about. Apparently its one of two left in the country. A Renault 17 Gordini with one owner. it'll be restored and back on the road. Pretty excited for him really, he used to be a Renault mechanic in his younger years.

God Almighty, I can't remember the last time I saw a Renault 17, never mind a Gordini one. The colour is perfect. The only other colours that I think would have suited it are orange or yellow.

Very nice Goodwood

Is that an S16 or a GTi6?

I recently bought a clean 1995 s16 and was about to break it, opinions on if its desirable/future classic? Ive had many GTI6 but not an S16 ?

That's a phase 1 GTI-6, the S16's had the same wheels as the XSI's and if you have one (I miss not having my old S16, N616HRH is out there somewhere), then its worth keeping as they are rarer than phase 1 GTI-6's.

I thought the where mainly the European market, like a 106 is badged s16 in Europe? It's been parked up for years with 76k on the clock. I presume its 155bhp like the mi16. I was going to break it but maybe I should add it to the rest now!

Thanks for the comment.

Yep, as confirmed it is a phase 1 GTI6.

Don't break an S16, there are only about 100 or so left in the UK with about 15 or so on the road.
