We've just bought the white one one from Butter Face at the equivalent of £17635. smile No frills but we only want it as a toy so suits our needs. Or will do once we've got Ohlins and seats sorted. The link above offers Ohlins at less than the option cost when buying from Renault plus you get the original suspension on top. Makes for a bargain if its legit, which it appears to be. Ive contacted the seller and will report back when I know more.

Edit: Looks like the springs are £600 yikes Not such a bargain. Truely ridiculous price in comparison to the shocks at £1300. I can have springs made as one offs at £40 each, Renault will be paying sub £10 all in. That's an obscene profit margin, even for the car industry!

Congrats mate, you got quite a bargain there!!!

Are you planning on fitting the recaro seats?

If so any idea how much they cost?

I'd been in contact with Adam about your car but you beat me to it!

Enjoy - bet you can't wait!

The optional Recaros are Sportster CS. you can buy them for under 2k a pair with mounts but I'm not yet sure they're worth that. The original ones come with side air bags built in, the aftermarket equivalents are the thick end of £2.7k a pair with mounts!

I'll see what support the standard seats offer and go from there.

Hi All,
I have just been reading this thread via nickfrog's link in the comments following Dan Trent’s excellent comparison between the Civic Tyre R and the Megane.

All the positive response is very welcome as I recently ordered one of the last available Cup S 275s. I was planning to spend a few months researching options and reading forums but when I called into my local Renault dealer, there were only four cars on the system with spec already fixed.

I’m sure various cars will emerge via brokers and pre-registered models at some dealers but it does sound as though the end is in sight.
Mine is due early September - has anyone been given a later delivery date?

Thanks for that.

That's bloody expensive!

A bit ridiculous when you think it's over 10% of the cost of your car new!

I 'd really like a car with them fitted though frown

They've got a grey Nav car near me with cup pack, recaros and lots of stuff I'm not bothered by. Apparently a Renault directors car lol so has most options. It unfortunately has horrible orange side skirts and wing, they offered to reprint them to match the bodywork but only if I gave the asking price.

It's done nearly 10k but isn't even a year old. They want 20k for it but I'm thinking of offering 18 as a starter and see where I get. Probably nowhere lol!

Must say the whole Renault sport thing has really grown on me. I started looking at the older r26 meganes but have somehow ended up with a brand new one in my sights..

I need help!

Have you got a link to the car? Mine was an ex directors car, and it had Recaros, nav, leather, spare wheel, keyless, climate pack, privacy glass and a few other options. I paid 17k for a 265 cup back in december. It to had 10k miles on it, but was a 64, so a year old.

I might have access to a much more cost efficient solution than using Ohlins top mounts, if they exist, which I imagine they don't. We have used BC Racing top mounts on Ohlins Mitsubishi Evo 7,8,9 kits to convert them to fit the earlier 4,5,6 cars. We can also potentially then use BC Racing springs at a fraction of the cost of the Renault items. I'm sure I can sort a solution, it's a good idea, thanks.
No problem, good luck with it cool

Mine is also early September, from my understanding Renault will not be building any after the summer shutdown so next week will be the last week of production.

Plus any aftermarket ones you buy won't have the "Renault Sport" branding. So you'll have to add this in if you want to be OEM.

If you're definitely going down this route, there are better seats available. The Trophy-R came with Pole positions for example, rather than the Sportster CS Link

Always worth thinking about.

If you want the Renault ones, keep an eye out on the forums, and on the Renaultsport forum facebook pages. In and out you see people selling the Recaros. They seem to go for about £1200 in good shape.

I'll keep my eye out. I've asked the guy who sold me these to let me know if he gets anymore. Car loosening up nicely. Nice run out last night and the grip and body control is nothing short of amazing!

My want for a Cup-S is huge. Utterly gorgeous and the best colour by far - Really shows off the shape.. not biased at all smile

Ill come back to the seats once we have got the car. Im not particularly bothered about replicating the optional Recaros, just want something that is not going to look out of place and does the job. smile In the meantime Ill keep an eye out on the forums to see if anything pops up. Which forums should I be looking on?

There are quite a few out there to be honest

RSMegane.com seems to be a good one and has a decent (up to date) website.
The official RenaultSport forum is also good, has all the stuff about track days too

Then there's MeganeSport, MeganeOwnersClub, RenaultForums, French Car Forum, RenaultSport Club.

Take your pick haha

Here it is:

I just found my dream car... Search for yours via Auto Trader #DrivenByMe
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Interestingly there was another car local to me that I enquirer about; a 275 cup with about 3k. Originally they were asking 22k for it. I'd been in touch with the garage previously as it the closest one to me. I said I was interested in the car but mentioned the prices on here and asked if they could compete. The answer was no. But!!! The same car is now advertised at 20k lol!

There seems to be huge variation in prices with these cars, buyers should beware!

Well done on your purchase, 17k for that spec car is way cheaper than you'd find today smile

That's a pretty decent spec. Recaros, R Link, Cup'd, Climate pack and leather from what I can see.

Registered in London (Mine is LM64!)

I'd be pushing for £18,500 personally (starting offers at 18), especially with that mileage and the paintwork needs doing. I would leave the front airblade as it looks alright, but the sides and spoiler I would get done. That wouldn't cost £1000. Bear in mind it might well need new tyres, I needed to put some on after I did less than 1000 miles on mine. PS2's have been discontinued, but I paid about £120 a corner.

Is it worth haggling with the likes of K-tec - noticed they had some FS.

Cant believe how cheap people have picked these up for.

Ktec charge the absolute top whack.

A car I tested was up for 23k, it was unsold, went to Ktec and ended up for sale at 27k. Exactly the same car, with about 40 miles more (I expect)

Just sorting insurance for the Megane. Have been quoted £424 fully comp for my missus and myself including track cover at all UK track days run by recognised track organisers and Nurburgring track days.

That has got to be bargain of the year!

Were that £20k, would you?

Also is it S/S or NAV? Phoned up and it has the Cup chassis, so its perfect spec for me.

I've possibly (and I say possibly) got a 275 Nav (non cup) in titanium grey with 19's (black with red lip) available for £19995 if anyone is looking for a last minute bargain. Non cup, but has the Nav extras over the Cup-S.

Can I ask who from?!

Mine is more than that without track days!
