Hi,

I need to change my rear discs and pads on my 2007 c crosser.

I have taken them apart today and seen that the retaining screw on the disc seems to have a round hole in the middle, any ideas how it would come out?

thanks,

Try Torx & hexagon keys to see if one will fit. It's possible that it just appears round, or only the first couple of millimetres has been rounded off. It's not very likely that somebody has reused a rounded-off screw - possibly you're seeing the result of a previous failed attempt to remove it.

If the worst comes to the worst, just drill it out!

Hi

I'm pretty sure that it was put in there from new. It's a black metal thing which looks untouched rather than rounded off. And I've owned the car since it was 12 months old and nobody but me would have done brakes on it.

Good shout about it being hex deeper inside, I'll take a closer look.

It's most likely a Torx screw. The chamfer around the opening, for want of a better word, can make it look as though they have been rounded off.

The screw will most likely be M6, in which case a T30 driver should be the correct one to use.
